I have no idea what the McCain campaign is doing...was this a slip up, or is it a step towards saying that the SURGE! has worked to the point that we need to start talking about withdrawal? I wasn't sure if the media would just ignore this or use it as an opportunity to do damage control for the statement and talk about how "successful" the surge has been. I just turned on AC360 a couple of minutes into it (ugh..) but they are trying to tell me that Obama went to the gym instead of visiting troops (:puke:)...I don't know if they are eventually going to address it since it was a Wolf Blitzer interview, but it's very typical. I don't even know how to respond to it, McCain's campaign just seems so retardedly undisciplined right now...

And, not surprisingly, Dana Bash was the "reporter" on this. And honestly, I just turned it on at the point where they gave the Pentagon quote saying that they did not advise the Obama campaign not to make the visit, and Dana Bash cheerfully said "But, Republicans were happy to see this picture of Barack Obama leaving a work out session in a German newspaper!"

3. "Obama Bullies Old Man Into Changing Iraq Position" -- headline
I'm fairly shocked at how blatantly the MSM adopted rightwing talking points throughout this Obama trip. To his credit, Obama just keeps plugging away, doing the right thing, and ignoring his naysayers.

5. What was Wolf Blitzer's reaction?
Did he just fluff up his beard and pretend that McCain's been saying this all along?
