ABC News Officially Endorses John McCain For President

After tonight’s broadcast of ABC News with Charlie Gibson, ABC might as well openly declare its support for John McCain.

Hours after first watching it, I’m still stunned at just how blatant its bias was. About the only good thing I can say about it is that at this point Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos are so confident that they won’t be held accountable that they are getting arrogant and sloppy. As a result, tonight they made some glaring mistakes that make it easy to prove their bias towards McCain.

Here’s a video from the broadcast, followed by a writeup documenting the many ways in which it was biased.

VIDEO & More at:
http://www.jedreport.com/2008/07/abc-news-offici.html

It should now be clear that ABC News cannot be trusted -- its journalistic integrity has been succesfuly challenged far too many times. At this point, we have to acknowledge that ABC News is at least as pro-McCain as FOX News, and its impact is certainly far more insidious because most people don’t realize just how tilted their “news” really is.

4. I've been saying for months now that they're WORSE than Fox
Like you said, people still see them as real news, while most people (even those that don't post on DU on a regular basis) have come to see Fox for what it really is.

5. I have not watched ABC at all since they ran that anti-Clinton movie
just before the election ('06) and I will never ever buy any Disney product. The only thing corporations understand is losing money. If we at DU and other progressive organizations were really smart, we would boycott the media and the corps which own them and the ones which advertize on them. I go to "ma and pa" stores when I can and I try to choose "blue" and/or environmentally sound merchandise if I can tell which it is.

13. I agree. ABC News has become the most powerful tool for the right-wing message machine.
I don't think Gibson's pulling the strings here. He's too much of an idiot, who actually believes that teachers make over $100k a year and that an increase in capital gains taxes will hurt the average joe.

It seems to be coming from Disney corporate, which has also been censoring ESPN of any coverage favorable to Obama.

34. Gibson was also the only one of the three major anchors who thought the media had no fault
in news coverage leading up to the Iraq war. Gibson, Brian Williams and Katie Couric were on the Today show shortly after Scott McClellan dropped his bombshell. Williams and Couric said the media could be at some fault. Not Gibson. Keep in mind that Gibson and Snuffalopogus were the dufuses who interviewed Clinton and Obama at that debacle ABC tried to pass off as a Democratic debate last spring.

14. Also, for anyone who dares visit Drudge, notice how the vast majority of his links to TV media
stories are to the ABC News site, Jake Tapper in particular. Way more than even Fox News. There's definitely some coordination between ABC and Drudge.

Those mouse ear hats are really listening devices. Some of them are retro fitted for radar and infrared. The latest version mouse hat has the new microwave disrupter installed for crowd control in case we all rebel and revolt against Disney.

36. OshKosh, the company that makes cute, baby clothes, also makes some kind of military
equipment. Several years ago (2000-02), my husband (retired from Army a little less than a yr. ago)showed me the video for their new model. It's some kind of tank type vehicle. When he was showing it to me, I couldn't hardly pay any attention because it was made by Osh Kosh!

I wish I was being sarcastic.

At this point, it is feet on the ground.

McCain has won people. Change the future now.

Its hard to become active, but think about one or two kids whose lives you can effect,
and multiply that by a thousand.

Behind all the cute cartoons was a more sinister agenda. Not surprised ABC is so bad. I'm going to have to boycott some Disney products, including the music from them that I do like.

30. I know this is two levels of indirection, but how about Al Gore putting pressure on Steve Jobs?

Since Al Gore sits on the Board of Directors at Apple Computer, and Steve Jobs sits on the Board of Directors at Disney, I wonder if there are strings that Gore at some point can pull if this gets out of hand.

You can argue that Disney's been pulling a lot of fast ones with politics with things like the problems of distribution of Fahrenheit 9/11, releasing that hack film "Path to 9/11", that really sad debate that Gibson and Stephanopolis oversaw, and now stuff like this.

Not sure what he can do, but perhaps something to explore. If Gore were sitting himself on the board of Disney, then I would think there would be a lot of things he could do then.

What they are really doing is endorsing Romney. Forget it, I'm from Massachusetts and I ought to know, Romney's greatest skills are picking out great clothing, practicing his smile and combing his hair.

Goof grief, bad to worse.

benefits from media bias. The actual broadcasts of the major news shows have done just the opposite. I've begun to document NBC. I hope all the shows are documented to prove the Obama getting unfair advantage myth false.

Most telling, reporters accuse themselves of showing a bias in favor of Obama. That's a McCain talking point. They are willing to unjustly accuse themselves of just to go along with McCain.

will probably give them a raise.

Corporations owning our media have a vested interest in who sits in the Whitehouse b/c it is worth $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Obama is trying to get rid of the corporate lobbyist stranglehold on D.C. Did anyone think this was going to be easy?
It's not just ABC. Have you watched, NBC, MSNBC or CNN lately (and I'm sure the remainder are NO BETTER)? MSNBC has Countdown and they use that program to argue they are fair and balanced. That is A JOKE. Countdown is on for two hours a day. The remainder of the time is a Pro-McCain, Anti-Obama commercial.
