Defining LEADERSHIP....we hear this term bandied about...but what does it mean ? We should remind
Edited on Sat Jul-26-08 04:17 PM by opihimoimoi
our selves that by analyzing, thinking, etc a group of people can discern who has it and who doesn't

Obama uses the term WE....as in "WE CAN' "WE MUST" and "WE WILL".....he thinks of the BIG PICTURE

Big Picture People are rare...almost special....they can see, hear, and think.

Coupled with Social skills the combo is reckoning

Study McCain signs and symptoms, look for the qualities of Leadership...real Leadership..that of a SOLVER....after reviewing his history...its not good.

Whiner
Deceitful
Distorts
Anger problem
Astuteless
Poor timing(his jokes)
not an orator
Blink rate through the roof
Poor General Knowledge
Other than his so so political career...nothing stands out....
shows signs of being fed info above his ability to comprehend and retain
His Campaign Crew? Compare his to Obamas...there is a stark contrast...so who chose Cains crew> For all that monies spent...McCain blew it...Thats not Leadership
Unable to see...the Vision thing....outdated and on the wane....he relies on trickery and BS to carry his weak arguements/points
Thats not Cool....goes into the Neg Mode too often...

Besides being re elected several times...what has he done to make us think he is a Leader...a really good Leader???

and the answer is Nada.

Obama met all his challenges with passion and determination....from a nobody to Somebody in 3 years...now top contender to the Oval..thats LEADERSHIP

He chose his Crew carefully with skill to meet the challenges presented...thats leadership

He can INSPIRE, he can lift the Spirits of People in a TransCultural way...He does not have an anger streak...no outbursts we know of..

But for all there is to know bout him...he is not GOD, Savior, nor Egotistical...he is like one of us but with the rare ability to OVERCOME...He is a THINKER LEADER...those are TOPs.

I rest the case...VOTE BLUE...our very LIVES depend on it...Trust Me....Opi

1. One element of leadership is to tell unpopular truths with conviction...
...and faith that those you lead will come to understand.

Perfect example: "Gas Tax Holiday" pandering by his opponents, so transparent yet so successful.

Using that gimmick was the antithesis of leadership...eternal shame on those two who used it earlier this year.

It demonstrated contempt for the American people.

:patriot:

2. Obama has shown the ability to articulate what you offered
in terms best known as The High Road...

He seems to rely on Reason, Logic, Common Sense, Common Good, Sanity,....many many Benevolent terms....Hope and Change depend on those terms....

He will do well in the next 3 months....

3. Funny, we haven't seen the High Road work for such a long time.
We're due!

4. Its so refreshing to see it actually work....and guess what...McCane is stuck on low gear
In the mean time....Obama is operating on Cruise Control....operations tuned just right...Leadership established and spread out to insure a good effort.

5. I have a problem with 'leadership.' I don't want to be led...
I want people who can facilitate without imposing authority. I want to elect those who will act on the will of the people, not those who beligerently insist that the people are whiners or that we just aren't sophisticated enough to understand why the elite do what they do. Leadership, to me, smacks of authoritarianism. I know others will disagree, but I never want to vote for someone who fancies him or herself a 'leader' before a representative of the will of the people. These guys need to understand who they are working for.

Maybe its just a difference in the way we define the word 'leader,' but I don't want leadership; I want representation.

6. Like it or not, unless we find another way, the system requires elected officials to
make decisions and policy....and because this is a Republic....where elected representatives get to make decisions, we want the ones who demonstrate Skill in Leadership...the ability to solve by careful consideration as opposed to gut feelings based on conversations in the middle of the night.
