What in the hell is wrong with people in this country???
How can ANYONE in this country:

Enjoy listening to Limbaugh?

Enjoy watching Lou Dobbs?

Enjoy watching Glen Beck?

Even THINK of voting for McCain?

My god, I am so disappointed this election is even close!!!

After 8 years of "Bush the dumbass" people are still going to vote for his clone??

Like George Carlin said "Think about how dumb the average person is, and remember half of them are dumber than that"!!!

I am registering people to vote every other weekend and also donating as much money as I can to Obama.

Please do the same if you can. We GOT to win this election.

Sorry for the rant, but I saw Bill Maher's standup in Chicago last night and it just convinced me that the american public is too stupid to vote.

1. Because some people
many people, in fact, really ARE conservative.

They ask the same questions about us.

He's been suckling on the teat since before he was born.

means to conserve...so in some ways I'm conservative and yet I am very liberal..

21. Is that why they support an administation that has spent money like a drunken sailor?
Do these "conservatives" support foreign entanglements in Asia because of their conservative beliefs?

Do these "conservatives" agree with massive failures in accountability and profiteering?

Nope. They're just stupid motherfuckers who stupidly support the same people who pick their pockets.

23. That is more the neo-con agenda
Conservatives have historically been more isolationist.

I really wish McCain would live up to his claim of having T. Roosevelt as his hero. Who did have faults, but was certainly more interested in using the government for oversight rather than collusion with business.

26. Yes.
The Repukes in my immediate family just cannot understand how the rest of us can even think of supporting Obama. There was a big "discussion" over it the last time we were together a few weeks ago.

I don't understand their mindset; they don't understand mine.

2. It really is amazing - every time I go out to register voters I meet...
...citizens who don't believe in voting ~ they seem to believe that they are completely powerless, and don't see the stupidity of not voting.

The good news: registration is WAY UP all around the country ~ keep up the good work!

10. yeah, I was a little down after a chat with a co-worker today
we are all postal workers and several people that she has had talks with at work would never vote for Obama- cause he is too scary- he is a Muslim :sarcasm:

And a lot of the others are Republicans. They view Democrats as the tax and spend party.

Personally, I think there is a lot of racism going on here. Incredible. In 2008.

34. That's ok- my own boss looked me dead in the eye and proclaimed that Obama
is a SLEEPER CELL terrorist and the Muslims are trying to take over America. MY OWN BOSS said this! I was floored. All my respect for that woman is now out the window. She's a neocon in the worst way- believes that global warming is a political myth and it's a ploy Democrats are using to get elected. She thinks the most important thing our country should be doing right now is drilling for off-shore oil.

I still repsect her as my boss at work- but let me tell you I hate working for a right-wing nutjob. And unfortunately alot of my co-workers are just like her.

38. euugh tell her we don't want her
Canada in general is to the left of Obama. We have free health care. We don't have a whole lotta guns. We have gay marriage. We have abortion on demand (just gave the Order of Canada to the doctor that fought for abortion rights). There are lots of things that I don't love about our Conservative government, but frankly they haven't touched most of the major progressive policies and characteristics of our country. We desperately hope Obama wins, and we don't want her kind here.

22. do you think that john McSameasbush, war hero, represents them?
after all, the US is a representative democracy
(imho, 1/2 the electorate feel so powerless they rarely vote- and of the other 1/2, only a tiny loudmouth minority support regan or bush or even nixon, but the entire system is based upon false premise that the majority strangely vote against their kids' future interests...only by blatant incessant lying does the system appear to work as it does, for example millions of families have members in jail, or under law, yet the political system pretends they don't exist...iow the USA, like other english speaking democracies, only moreso, is literally addicted to a daily 'fix' of lies and pretense- if the 'fix' ever wtopped, even for a few days, then .....)

35. Voters are polarized over divisive issues and IMO as long as each side keeps calling the other names
there is little optimism for finding a common ground. NOTE, I thoroughly enjoy calling Republican's all sorts of disparaging names.

Regardless of which party elects a president, she/he is supposed to represent ALL the People ALL the time.

Republican presidents can't do that and as you pointed out it's improbable any Democratic president can do that job. See, how easy it is for me to make disparaging assertions!

A two party system sounds good but our government has become so polarized its stultified.

If we can't govern a culture where Democrats and Republican are powerful, how can we expect the Shia, Sunni, and Kurds to create a representative democracy in Iraq?

He talked about McCain a lot and some about Hollary. It was some dated stuff but I guess he was preaching to the choir and there was a lot of yelling and clapping. He spent about 20 minutes on religion and ripped it pretty good. II loved it but I am not a huge fan of his herbal medicine stuff and he mentioned that a few times.

If you need any hints as to why people STILL like Bush, the Iraq War, McCain, Reagan and want to play the "uncertainty" card as well as act like journalistic hacks, just turn on your TV. Surf the MSM news channels for perhaps 10 minutes.

You'll see why McCain is being given a FREE pass and actually gets to whine that the media loves Obama too much.

42. I, too, amd registering voters each weekend, and what is so discouraging to me in NC is that so many
of the young people who are not registered have already become so cynical that they don't want any part of the election process. They are wise to electronic voting fraud and feel that their vote would be meaningless. One thing I was told yesterday that had not occurred to me to mention to those who think they don't want to vote was this: "Barack Obama cares about you, and he has sent me here to ask for your vote. Has anyone from John McCain's camp come by to see you to ask for your support?" Paraphrased, of course, and embellished a little more. I even left 2 voter registration forms with a couple on the fence who, if registered, would vote for Obama. I encouraged them to talk about it - that to register didn't mean that they HAD to vote, BUT should they decide at the last minute that they wanted to vote, they would registered and ready to go. I even left my personal cell phone number and name, asking them to call me, that I would personally come back by and pick up their registrations. It is SO frustrating living in a blood red state! :(
