Take heart, friends....Pawleys Island, SC for Obama event

Folks, we are a small community in one of the Reddest states in the country! Our PI for Obama group held our first event today. We set up a tent on the side of the road and within 3-1/2 hours we ran out of bumper stickers (we gave out 100!), we registered 20 new voters, and we signed up 10 new volunteers. Never in our wildest dreams did we think we would have that kind of success our first day out. And we will be back EVERY Saturday as well as going door to door canvassing. The people are out there and we WILL win this election in a landslide if every community has volunteers out there at the grassroots level. If it is happening in Pawleys Island, SC, it can happen anywhere! :)

Tonight I just signed up to drive from the Chicago Burbs to Davenport, IA to canvas. I've never stepped out like this before (out of my area that is). As a matter of fact, I first told the campaign volunteer that I couldn't go (kids and such). After speaking to my husband - I decided to go for it, and called back. Wow, so incredible to think about - and more exciting knowing there are so many others out there, just like you.

And you will make such a difference! This is the first campaign I have ever gotten involved in. I volunteered during the primary and traveled to NC to canvass in their primary. We can do this!!! People Power will win this election....That, and of course, the incredible candidate we have who inspires us all!! :)
