Compare Obama's trip to Berlin to Bush's trip to Berlin.

As many as 50,000 demonstrators marched through the middle of Berlin Tuesday in the first of a series of demonstrations and rallies planned for the next three days protesting the first ever visit to Germany by American President George Bush.

1. The GOP would hope that we don't do that.
There is no comparison really.

6. The danger is, this is what makes the right wing nut cases go absolutely mad
Part of what they hated about Clinton was his popularity. They never got over the country falling in love with FDR, it was traumatic and they have been trying to prevent anything like that again. (Think how you'd feel if W got elected two more times. It would drive me mad!)

The country loved Clinton and the right could not figure it out. I remember my rightie co workers beside themselves unable to understand why everyone didn't despise him. They want to paint Reagan as the best prez in the 20th century, they want his "memory" to eclipse that of any dem including FDR. It's part of the permanent majority.

They see that happening again with Obama only this time, they run the risk of looking racist if they go all bat shit on us again. They know no matter what, we will call them racist.

It's going to get ugly. They are in full destroy-and-it-you-can't-destroy-impeach mode. (Don't forget, they started a well funded group to impeach Clinton in November 1992, within weeks of him being elected. They are not rational beings and they will do anything for power and the money it brings.)
