Hagel: McCain “Treading on Some Very Thin Ground”
In Sunday appearance on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” the Republican Senator criticizes McCain for questioning Obama’s patriotism and motives.

“I think John is treading on some very thin ground here when he impugns motives...John’s better than that.”

Also hits McCain on latest ad, says it is “not appropriate.”

My question is, where are Dem leaders on this. This ad is offensive and hypocritical. They need to come out and defend Obama.

Obama defending himself (and now Reed and Hagel) is just crazy--where is Carl Levin? Where is Hillary? Where is Chris Dodd? Where are all the Dem surrogates and operatives? It's just like with the Rev. Wright bullshit--Obama stands alone. It's like we want to lose.

9. Biden went after BushCo on torture, and wrote on Obama's foreign policy
for USA Today. Haven't heard him on the smear yet but I bet he has some choice words.

I've been reluctant about Biden for VP (might rather see him stay in Senate) but it seems like he's working harder than many of the other names floated to defend Obama. And where ARE those other folks? Like Hillary or Dodd are going to lose their Senate seats for supporting Obama? What do they have to lose?!

10. Yes, I know Biden has been out there for Obama lately--the rest of them

should be putting out press releases condemning McCain and demanding an apology--not JUST for Landstuhl, but for accusing Obama of treason ("rather lose the war to win an election"). Obama is a sitting U.S. Senator, not just McShitstain's rival--that's a very serious charge.

11. Agree, They Better Be Out in Full Force
this coming week, because as we all know, the media will take the entire week to bash Obama's trip.

14. SLow down and wait for tomorrow
there isn't much they can do over the weekend. By the way, wasn't McCaskill on Fox this morning? Anybody saw her? She can be a pretty good "smackerer".

search for him on youtube. Others will point you I am sure to his less than stellar voting record.

4. "...John's better than that?" No, I don't think so.
The McCain camp is very desperate, and will stop at nothing.

6. Obama HAS already responded to McNuts nasty comment about
losing the war to win an election. He responded to Brian Williams while they were still in the ME. As to responding to the new ad, it was only released today! I expect a responding ad, but you really DO have to give them at least a few hours to put it together!

8. I think the OP is wondering where all the Dem talking heads and officials are--
they are clearly trying to swiftboat Obama on this, and we need to be much quicker on the draw. Obama is doing his best, but he needs the whole party to jump immediately to his defense.
