McCain ad on oil prices is the biggest lie I've ever seen.
Edited on Sun Jul-27-08 11:28 AM by Democrats_win
The ad claims that Democrats are saying "no" to independence from foreign oil.

This is not true. In fact it was Reagan who said YES to foreign oil in the 80s, reversing the national goal of energy independence. Prior to Reagan surrendering to the oil sheiks, Americans were building better cars and yes, drilling. Reagan wanted the rich to have a party and the band played on. The efforts of the 70s at oil independence were wasted.

The GOP has started three wars to protect foreign oil especially oil in the Middle East. Meanwhile Democrats have introduced legislation to require higher miles per gallon for cars which would make America less dependent on foreign oil. The GOP would have none of that as they ridiculed the Democrat's efforts.

So you see, the McCain ad could not be further from the truth. The shocking part is that McCain approved of these lies.

1. Not as big a lie as his latest ad: Troops
I'd link to the site, but we're not supposed to link through to right wing sites!

2. Yes, DUers have been talking about this shameful troop ad.
DUers have done a good job of describing it so I'm thankful for no link to RW sites.

The oil price ad has been on TV in Denver and the ad is contrary to everything I've observed for the past 35 years.

3. And do you know why it's such a lie?
"This is a case study of how a candidate can change a policy position in the interest of raising money."

4. As I told my granddaughter regarding a Norm Coleman ad: They
do not have anything else so everything coming out of repubs this time is lies.
