John McCain's Blundered Attempt to Beg For The Family Values Vote
This is what John McCain said in his ABC interview that aired today.

Read it twice. Read it out loud.

"I'm running for president of the United States because I want to help with family values. I think family values are important when we have two parent families that are parents of the traditional family."

Was drool drooping off his lip as he said this?

He's incoherent!

As a gay man, normally, this stuff makes me fume. But this shit cracked me up.

It's like a parody of a Republican candidate.

Man, the Republicans must be shaking their heads all across the country today.

Check out the long list of McCain's other inconsistencies and screw-ups in this one interview.

2. I can't wait for the debates. Even wired to a prompter McCain is not going to be able to do it.
Obama will eat him for lunch.

7. And this is why I think Obama is smart not to wallop him.
Because McCain is stumbling like a drunken mess all on his own.

At the debates, Obama will eat him for lunch while still allowing McCain to maintain his dignity.

"I honor Senator McCain's service but I'm confused by his statement here. It contradicts McCain's position from just two days ago."

4. McCain is craven.
Edited on Sun Jul-27-08 01:59 PM by Skidmore
For the life of me, I don't understand why we aren't highlighting his cravenness. How many decades has he tried to attain his party's nomination? How many times has flipped and flopped all over the place and twisted himself into knots to get just a nod from his party? How much grovelling has he done? How many unanswered personal attacks and how many smears was he willing to tolerate against himself and his family from his own party to get where he is?

For McCain, all he wants is to get the office. He doesn't care how he gets there or who he hurts once he is there. That man would crawl on broken glass spread across burning coal to get there.

A man who will not stand up for his own child will not stand up for you or your children.

8. 130,000 children wait in foster care each year
because they can't get adopted.

There’s a reason that nearly every child welfare organization in the country, from the American Academy of Pediatrics to the Child Welfare League of America opposes bans on adoption by gays and lesbians, and no state has followed Florida’s lead in banning these adoptions. About 130,000 children wait in the foster care system each year for a permanent, loving home. And every year, half of these children are never placed, and 20,000 children “age out” of the foster care system without ever finding a permanent home.

Children are placed in foster care on a case-by-case basis. Every potential parent undergoes extensive screening before a child is placed with them. A ban on certain adoptions eliminates potential parents and wastes child welfare agencies’ time and resources implementing it—in Texas alone, a ban would cost more than $75 million over 5 years.

Does John McCain really think hundreds of thousands of children should sit in foster care and orphanages while we wait for “Ozzie and Harriet” families to appear? As someone who himself made the admirable decision to adopt a child, Senator McCain surely knows better.

9. Oh he does! That's why his campaign CORRECTED HIM - stating the gay adoptions were good
when no other options were available.

Of course, McCain contradicted them again with his statement today.

It's a train wreck in slow motion.

10. George Stephanopoulos let him off easy as expected as McCain never
did answer the question, he may have asked McCain more than once but he should have made him acknowledge he did not support it and what is family values if it does not support the adoption of children by loving parents who have gone through the adoption process as everyone does.

12. He is a hollow-man. He is not genuinely engaged in anything he says, ergo, he screws it up.
The one thing he DOES care about is Violence.

Also: Isn't just about the whole re :puke: lican rhetoric that government ISN'T SUPPOSED TO HELP WITH ANYTHING and most especially it shouldn't "...help with family values." That is the Family's RESPONSIBILITY; if they, the Family, get it right, "Good on them." If they get is wrong, "That's their problem." Isn't this the essence of "Conservative" values in all other domestic issues? WHO IS THIS PERSON????

And also, also: WHAT IS THE DEFINITON OF FAMILY VALUES?????? "... family values are important when we have two parent families that are parents of the traditional family." "Family values" are not important to ANY of the many other variaties of American families????? Other types of families do not care about their children? do not want a healthy environment in which to be a Family? do not care about their social community? don't want appropriate and complete Educations for the members of their Family? don't care about anything that "...twoparent families that are parents of the traditional famil" care about??????

Crash is either completely in-sensate or stupid or he is right and the Family Values of which he speaks are none of the things I mention above and ARE instead: HATE LGBT!!! and OBSSESSION with clumps of cells in the uteruses of women they don't even know, much less care about otherwise, since those clumps of cells will never make it into the files offered by their favorites Labor Temps.

14. He's making Miss Teen South Carolina sound articulate and quick-thinking on her feet.
"I personally believe family values are important for US Americans when we have two parent families that are parents of the traditional family such as South Africa, and the Iraq, everywhere, like, such as."
