Barack Obama will accept the Democratic Party's nomination from the 50-yard line of Invesco Field at Mile High, according to a draft of the stage and seating arrangements.

The plans reveal that the presumptive presidential nominee will walk from the main stage positioned along the sidelines down a 36-foot carpeted walkway to a circular podium set 6 1/2 feet off the ground.

Almost 6,000 seats for delegates will fill the rest of the field, along with platforms for network television stations and stand-up areas for affiliate broadcasters. Print journalists will have assigned seats beyond the southern end zone.

The plans for the final night of the Democratic National Convention remain under discussion, and no final announcement has been made regarding the event's staging arrangement.

The Obama campaign hopes to seat more than 60,000 members of the public at the venue Aug. 28.

4. They are giving them to people in CO first
This is actually a dual purpose event. Big Media spectacle and volunteer recruitment for Colorado in the General Election.

5. Fate takes a stand: In 2000, the Broncos hosted a * campaign rally.
Edited on Sun Jul-27-08 04:03 PM by Democrats_win
Now Obama will use the home of the Broncos to take a major step in correcting the bushwacking of America.

The bush visit to Bronco camp (not the stadium) happened as Denver-area taxpayers had just approved this very stadium and it was being built.

I was so angry with the Broncos and the coach who stood by this monster that I burned all of my Bronco stuff. Instead of hosting this monster, the coach should have been developing wide receivers. The team had a shortage at this position and would suffer from the lack of receivers. Over the next few years rich Broncos continued to take public stands for bush as the team continued to lose.

The stadium was built by union men and women and the Broncos have done poorly since 2000. Some losses at this stadium have been just terrible and I was thankful that I no longer gave a darn. This would have never happened at the old stadium where Denver had a big advantage: we're a mile high! Instead we got the bush curse. This was the same bush curse that hit just about everything in America.

Will the bush curse be lifted? We'll know on the evening of NOV. 4.
