Poll question: Who remembers Tim Kaine's "There is a better way" Dem response to the 2006 SOTU address?
Just wondering if there's any correlation at all with feelings, positive or negative, on the national ticket.

(Nothing scientific here, just curious!)

1. I'm can't really choose, based on that alone - I would say No. But I got some good info on him

from some helpful DUers and now would be happy with him.

Here is the info thread if you are interested.

I must say, based on the Cheney-Edwards debate alone, no way would I ever have supported John Edwards for President, but I happily supported him while he was running.

2. Not based on that alone... No cause-effect necessarily.
You saw it and you'd be happy for him to be VP. That's option #1.

the very last response (#37 I think). He is pretty good, there, MUCH better than in that address.

He speaks fluent Spanish - which can't hurt!

4. Kaine is a good man.
He is well liked in Virginia. I know it is silly of me, but I can't help thinking of his errant eyebrow when he delivered the SOTU response.

8. LOL! I see his hair pointing up on either side of his head. He's a good guy though.
He's also carried alot of water for Obama and deserves some love. I'm just not so sure how much he'll help win VA. Having the three amigos(Webb, Warner and Kaine) travelling around the state together might do the trick though.

With that said, I think you could do alot worse then picking him.

7. I remember it
I couldn't watch more than a minute or two before clicking the channel. Even Mark Warner is an exciting speaker compared to Kaine. But that's irrelevant. Kaine all but delivers the election and a guy like that would improve and loosen up dramatically on a national stage as VP.

10. I mostly remember this SOTU response for Chris Matthews accusing
Kaine of ripping off his "Better Way" line from "The Candidate" - even playing clips from the movie to make his point. I knew when I was watching it live that somebody was going to bring it up - just way too famous a film for it to go unnoticed. That said, I'd have no problem with Kaine as VP.

12. The only reason I remember it is that it was so bad!!!
But this is not the only reason I do not want him. He does not have enough experience either in the domestic or international scene, and is way too conservative for me.

Sebelius, Napolitano, or Schweitzer, or even Rendell (though I do not like him particularly) seem much better choices IMHO.
