There have been numerous post concerning the VP. I wish that we could stop fueling the fire by continuing to make assumptions that Hillary is going to be chosen. Please let the campaign do what's needed to make the best decision.

1. I think it's a valid topic of discussion. |
|
Will Obama base his decision on out posts? Of course not. It's still as valid a topic of discussion as any.
There are 10 or 12 people here who really need a week or so off. Screaming "concern troll" at every question (even from well-established members) and dismissing any VP talk by stating "Obama will make the decision, not us" is counterproductive.
The campaign WILL "do what's needed to make the best decision", rest assured. What makes you think discussing the matter here interferes with the campaign's decision-making capacity?

2. I think she probably will. I think that Obama was waiting |

for the primary furor to die down. People on both sides were angrier than I've ever seen, and not inclined to be generous toward the candidate they didn't support. That's not so much the case now.
But we shall see.

3. Obama's VP Choice needs to be someone left of him and his positions, NOT right.... |
|
MOVING TO THE CENTER by counterbalancing his positions with a center right VP Pick would be exactly the wrong decision to make.
People are finally waking up to the corruption of the Bush Administration, and they are looking for a clear choice that differentiates Obama from McCain.
Don't move to 'the center' thinking you will influence 'the right' to vote for you. Stick to your guns and draw voters to you like a magnet. That is the winning formula.

5. I make the guess that Obama knows who he wants on the ticket by |

nowing who he does not want on the ticket, and that he is very unlikely to trust the media with even a hint, and will throw them off the scent at every possible opportunity.
I think he told his staff this weekend, "Leak to the press that we're considering Ann Veneman. That ought the keep the sons-a-bitches busy for a few days."
And it has.
He strikes me as a hell of a smart guy with terrific political instincts, surrounded by excellent staffers, and in the catbird seat to choose just about anybody he damn well feels like choosing.
I think the speculation, mostly by me, that McCain will pick Franklin Graham as his running mate is extremely valuable to our national dialogue.
