McCain "President Putin" until George S. corrected him
Anybody else catch that gaffe? I'm listening to the This Week video on ABC. The things McCain says about Obama and international affairs and the economy are stunning. I think George S. actually did a good job of asking questions and followup pointing out things McCain was saying that make no sense.

For example, McCain saying that to reduce Russia's control of oil and influence in Iran, we should kick them out of G-8. He says this about 4 minutes before the end of the tape (it counts down). He says "President Putin and..." George S. says "FORMER President Putin". McCain repeats "FORMER President Putin, now Prime Minister Putin" (with his "boys and girls isn't that interesting voice"). I wish George S. had let him sink and not provided the Medvedyev (sp?) name later.

Maybe not that big a deal, but one more for the gaffe pile.

1. I thought foreign policy was supposed to be McCain's strong point
Maybe he should make a few more trips to Czechoslovakia to learn about what's happening in the world

2. I just caught that one, too, and it got even worse after that
McCain was really awful, especially about twenty minutes in. He needed a nap at that point and completely stopped making any sense whatsoever.

4. there was another thread about whether ABC edited it - I just think McBush
was making so little sense it sounded like the tape was disjointed. The whole thing was astounding. Made me mad.

10. That's THE truth. I had a couple of registered Republicans say exactly that
to me at a fundraiser for a crossover candidate recently.

I was wearing my peace symbol and mingling, so I think they made a point of telling me that they are registered Republicans. So I asked if they weren't a little frustrated by folks who vote down things such as funding to fight antibiotic resistant TB because the money is bundled with money for Planned Parenthood and both of them, the three of us were standing together at that point, said it's all about Power and that's ALL it's about.
