Novak has a brain tumor
Novak diagnosed with brain tumor

Columnist Bob Novak has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Novak's statement:

"On Sunday, July 27, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I have been admitted to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, where doctors will soon begin appropriate treatment.

"I will be suspending my journalistic work for an indefinite but, God willing, not too lengthy period.

1. Suspending his journalistic work? I didn't know he ever did any.
I thought he just transcribed talking points and treasonously published state secrets.

...however, out of respect for being at the DU, I am NOT going to stoop to the kind of nasty evil, remarks that the Freepers made when Sen Kennedy was diagnosed with the same sort of condition.

I've got too many bad ones already. At this point I'm just trying to break even. If I can make it back to zero, then (maybe) I can build up a surplus on the good side. That way I'll be able to go back to my natural state of being bad! Ebb and Flow. Ebb and Flow.

If I keep it to myself... it doesnt count! That way I can think all the bad things I want, just as long as no one knows about it... Im good. :bounce: Its harder than it sounds but in my mind it works well. You get used to the tongue biting after a while. :P

5. May he have a speedy recovery!
I for one don't jump for joy when someone has a potential deadly illness, even if it's Novak.

Which brings up another issue, what the hell is going on with this cancer epidemic??? I know that they haven't yet even done a biopsy, but between public figures and people I personally know, there's at least a dozen people who I have heard in the last few months have cancer. Pretty scary......

:scared:

It seems like I'm hearing of a lot more - especially brain tumors. I never remember hearing of anyone public or personal that had a brain tumor and in recent years, I've heard of several.

42. One can certainly hope. But it didn't do that for laura ingraham.
She's still as big a schmuck as ever. And you'd think having survived cancer herself, and having faced some awfully big adversities, it would have made her a better person. Guess again.

A brain tumor is hardly convenient, though.

I've lost enough friends and family members to cancer that I can't be glib about his diagnosis.

33. I probably didn't express myself very well.
No, a tumor of any sort is not convenient. However, I think that we're going to see Novak's lawyers try to make a connection between his felony and his tumor. Shit, if you or I had committed a hit & run, we'd be in jail right now, regardless of previously unreleased medical condition.
