Here's a potential VP pick I haven't seen mentioned: Debbie Stabenow.
Personally, I can't stand her. She's voted for some of the most heinous legislation that's been proposed by the bush* admin, like the Military Commissions Act. In fact, I voted for the Green candidate because I just can't pull the lever for someone who is so willing to support illegal legislation. However, she is from Michigan which is a swing state this cycle and as a female Hillary supporter could be seen as a triple bonus to the Obama camp by picking up support from Michigan, women and Hillary loyalists.

While I truly hope and pray Obama has more sense than to pick her, I've been thinking for some time that on paper Stabenow looks very good. What do the rest of you think?

1. Um..no. I can't imagine anyone LESS likely to be chosen. I think Ann Veneman has
a better shot, LOL!

9. Has Stabenow ever impressed anyone, anywhere, as being even remotely
Presidential--is she even a "standout" Senator? I mean, come on.

14. I would be the last to call her "standout". "Sellout" perhaps.
But on paper she looks good. I just hope Obama's vetting process digs deeper than that.

2. Isn't she the one who fucked up the Michigan primary in the first place?
No thanks. Don't feel like rewarding someone for blatant attempt at election theft. And indirectly giving birth to PUMA.

5. That was Debbie Dingell
Congressman John Dingell's wife. However, Stabenow, along with many other powerful MI Democrats, certainly helped her.

3. NO!NO!NO!
In fact, Debbie should look for a job in the private sector...emptying bedpans or something equally useful.

8. I wouldn't want her that close to my vital parts.
She's already taken us once by that orifice. No need to give her access a second time.

4. If you're going after the Hillary voters I think there are better choices
Although after the fiasco in Michigan - it could be a bonus for us

15. I agree with all of that.
There are far better choices all over the country - except in Michigan. We do not have a good pool here to choose from right now. Maybe Jim Blanchard?

7. Her husband was arrested for hiring a prostitute last spring....no huge deal
but I doubt Obama would want to deal with that when there are so many good choices.

13. If Obama want's Michigan's 17 EVs he might look our way.
And unfortunately, I can't think of anyone who looks as good on paper at Stabenow - at least until you look at anger she induces in people like myself. Granholm is naturalized, Levin is too old, and there really aren't any other prominent MI politicians who could bring the state with them.

Personally, I hope Obama looks elsewhere as there really isn't a good choice in MI as the politicians have been corrupted by Amway and others. I hate to see us left out, once again, but we need leadership, not cronyism.

11. Are you confusing her with Jennifer Granholm? Where was Stabenow born?

18. Absolutely not.
And I say that as a voter from Michigan who has voted for her every time.
