Interesting discussion about regional advantages for Obama in the NE, MW and West, while closing in in the South. Oh and Obama's getting a LOT of the hispanic vote as well.

And there's another poll that has the lead at 13.

Nice, huh?

4. Heh. NoFacts just had a column in TODAY's WP saying there was no bounce.

I am thinking as I am reading it - isn't it a little early to be declaring "NO BOUNCE?"

Oh and he was also making a big deal out of the fact that Obama can't get over 50%. Oh well.

6. McWhine's internals must have been showing this, which might explain his flailing.
Obama's campaign has been close to perfect while McWhine's has been awful.

...lead is in the single or low double digits. If people in this country had two braincells to rub together the numbers would be 100-0. Honestly, some folks would vote for a dead cow if there was a GOP sticker on the carcass.

8. Just remember that every poll is going to try and paint a different story.....
PLUS, the MSM will focus on those polls that keep the race 'close'. First it keeps the hype going and most importantly, it makes it easier for the election to be stolen if the polls show the candidates 'neck-n-neck'

10. In 1988 around this time
Dukakis had a 10 point lead over Poppy Bush, which was later upped to +17-18 after the convention.

He ended up getting swamped.

13. Luckily Obama is not Dukakis
But it is true that polls certainly do not predict anything, especially ~100 days out.

15. No, Obama is not Dukakis - however
the media is far more consolidated now than it was then - and decidedly more conservative.

16. Thus far, the Campaign has shown no more interest in attacking McCain than Dukakis did
The corporate media isn't going to do it for them, and if they continue to evince the same "high road" mentality that Dukakis & Kerry did- then I'm not expecting any different result when all is said and done.

18. And the economy is way crappier and we are still bogged down in an unpopular war which
most of the country thinks was a mistake. It isn't even close to being 1988 and Obama is a far better campaigner than Dukakis was.

19. k*r This is really important

The polls and pundits claiming a hugely successful overseas trip might have 'hurt Obama' are shilling for lord knows who, but it's not the truth.

This seems about right and I'll bet a Franklin that it is.
