Grampy is gonna get nasty. Real nasty.
With tinfoil securely on....

Grampy mccain is going lower every day. The latest "troop" ad, the constant lying and deceitful characterizations of Obama are getting worse.

Notice how mccains ads are always about Obama. His name doesn't even appear until the "approval message".

With the likely set-up of mccain stepping aside for health concerns, he has nothing to lose. He will go out in a flame of slander and riding a swift boat. Even if he stays around, he has gone nasty early.

Obama's rapid response team needs to be shutting these lies down, immediately. The gloves are off and mccain brought the knife.

Obama, lets see that gun.

1. I'd rather see him (Obama) take a different tact...
He's set up the lie debunking on his website, right? I'd rather see him briefly state that we can all go to his website to see the debunking of the latest lies and filth to be hurled his way, then go on about the business of discussing policy. It would be very easy to get caught up in the negativity, and in the spirit of "change" I would dearly love to see Obama avoid getting involved. He's done a great job of this so far. Any negativity he chooses to spew will only get spewed right back at him. Taking the high road can sometimes be confused with being on a high horse. That is the only issue I can find with him steering clear of this combative stance.

11. Wrong--while Obama can stay positive, he needs ruthless, cutthroat surrogates
Edited on Mon Jul-28-08 04:15 PM by wienerdoggie
out there trashing McLame and demanding apologies and throwing fits.
edit to add: Gramma who gets her news from Rush Limabugh and Katie Couric isn't going to go to Obama's website to witness the debunking. Anyone who thinks so is hopelessly naive and doesn't understand the lazy and low-info electorate. Unfortunately the GOP understands them perfectly well.

14. So, I'm not wrong after all
Obama doesn't need to get in on the mud slinging at all, personally. And THAT is what I'm talking about. What you are talking about is something completely different.

A surrogate is not oneself.

8. I've been so pleasantly surprised by this wily Chicago crew so far
Edited on Mon Jul-28-08 04:11 PM by VolcanoJen
I'm sure they've got something up their sleeve. And their timing thus far has been impeccable.

McCain is playing the "Let's Make This All About Obama" card waaaaaaay too early. It's already about Obama, why are they trying to milk that cow? Desperation. Gutter politics, played 100 days out instead of 10.

Can't wait to see what happens, honestly!

From the start of the Primaries, until now. Wish they'd let me in on the plan on this one. They are letting the smear spread. Maybe the counter will be a show stopper.

3. F*** the high road! My momma told me
that if someone decked me I should get up and beat the shit out of that person. Forget about TURNING the other cheek...Obama should respond fire with fire because Gramps is getting nasty, ugly and real desperate. The GOP Nasty Machine is well greased and foaming at the mouth after Obama's wonderful and extremely successful overseas trip. We are not gonna let the Rethugs steal this one. NOT THIS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4. In one sense I agree he should hit back and in another I don't
I like the fact that McCain is digging his own hole but on the the other hand this sort of thing did Kerry in during the last elections so I think there's going to be a fine line for Obama's camp to draw here. This latest "troop" ad, for better or worse is getting a lot of attention.

5. Thanks to a media protecting Bush nonstop and lack of party support
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_oet&address=358x2555

The big difference is that Obama is getting party support. Ten times more support than Kerry and Gore got. Plus, he has Dean's 50 state strategy and has learned the lessons from past campaigns.

10. It is incredible that Chuck Hagel is doing more than
Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and all the big-wigs from our party. I am happy to see Mark Green (President Air America) blasting McStool in MSNBC right now.
