Watch McCain knock over grocery aisles...Embarrassing
Every public appearance is bound to have a couple of mishaps but c'mon. He's not doing much to remove his "old man fumbling around" image. He knocks over some cans in the store and store workers rush to pick up after the old man.
Here's the clip:

The "Mac & Cheese" jokes are way too easy...

"And dis?"

"That's cheese."

"And dis?"

"That's cheese."

"And what is dis?"

"Cheese."

"And dis?"

"Also cheese."

"And dis is?"

"Cheese."

etc. etc. etc....

6. God, listening to McCain speak is about as exciting as a MacLean Stevenson sitcom.
Holy shit. I will fucking escape to the GTA if Americans choose this worm feast for President over Obama. MAN this guy is a chore to watch. What's even more of a chore is figuring out why anyone making under $300,000 a year and doesn't hate African American people is still on board for what the Republicans have to offer. W.A.B.O.B.S. that this election is even portrayed as being close.

7. actually, I don't see McCain knocking anything over
it's someone in his entourage or a store employee.

Hey - keep up the attacks on old people - they're only the most consistant voters in the country.

Do you people really want to win this election?

9. OK, paulk, how old are you? Of course we have to attack his age! Don't take it personally!
With the problems we have facing our country and the way we are despised around the globe, we can't afford to have an elderly, confused idiot in the White House. And, btw, my 101-year-old grandmother talks with more sense than McCain!

10. keep it up
keep on alienating older people with these sort of attacks and you will cost us this election.

There are plenty of other areas to take down McCain with.

not making so many repeated--and the key word here is repeated--gaffes, his age wouldn't be as much of a factor, IMO. But to what else do we have to attribute all his bumbling? My father-in-law had Parkinson's that started manifesting itself in his early 60s but wasn't diagnosed until age 70. Based on what I saw in my FIL, and based on what I am seeing in McCain--particularly that little ill-timed laugh to "cover" whatever--I think he is suffering from some type of brain degenerative illness. Strictly my opinion, All of us are going to get "slower" as we age, but we can't afford to have in the WH as our leader someone who appears to be in ill health like McCain appears to be, particularly with his penchant for war. And talk about flip-flops! OMG. We were going to be at war if it took 100 years, and then we were going to have all the troops home by the end of his first term in office, and now he's bringing the troops home?

Why are you taking this age issue so personally?

Edited to add: And to what would you attribute all his gaffes if not age? Stupidity?

24. but this video isn't about his mental acuity
it's about some "bumbling old guy" who knocks over a bunch of cans in a grocery store. Which, if you watch the video, he doesn't even do.

I'm taking this age issue seriously for several reasons. First off, I think it's a foolish attack that only serves to alienate older voters - and older voters are a demographic we need. A higher percentage of older voters show up at the polls than any other demographic. Why even take the chance of pissing them off when there are so many policy based issues to go after McCain with?

Secondly, like I posted above, making an issue of McCain's age also puts Obama's age (and the lack of experience that comes with being young) on the table as an issue - and there are plenty of people for whom Obama's youth and reletive lack of experience are problematic. Why even go there when there are, once again, so many other areas where McCain can be attacked?

28. You and I just have differing viewpoints, which is ok. But,
younger people tend to be quicker, brighter, and "catch on" to concepts more easily than older folks. And, I base my observation on being 61 (in November) and having two sons ages 33 and 36 who absolutely amaze me.

So, McCain is only 10 years older than I, and I still think he is too old, based on what I have observed. Forgetfulness = aging or other problems? And, honestly, I HAVE heard ppl older than McCain say that he is too old. Look at it from the standpoint that McCain makes it look bad for older adults! Why wouldn't they want to distance themselves from him?

And, as far as the video, the topic drifted more towards age issues, I thought, and it seemed to me that you were taking it too personally. So I thought maybe you are in your 70s or older and it struck a nerve. If it did, sorry.

And, if I understand you correctly, you see Obama's youth as a problem, and I see just the opposite. It's not about tenure in the Senate. It's about intelligence, decision-making, and surrounding oneself with a brain trust of equally intelligent people with a vision for the future, not surrounding oneself with old cronies who think alike (as in war games). And I am really drifting off topic, so I will stop. LOL

19. My MIL is 82, and SHE says that McCain is too old for the job! It's the OLDER crowd who are more
critical of his age. Of course, we have to attack his age! That doesn't mean that other people in their 70s are inept, but in this case, his age IS a factor. What else would you attribute his continued gaffes re Czechoslovakia, etc? And the fact that he himself is pointing out all his shortcomings, trying to make light of them as if they are NOT a detriment. Who is writing his stuff--a Democrat posing as a Repuke?

After all, he's a war hero, remember? Not to worry, they will find a say to spin these in a way that makes eveyone chuckle- just like they spin what comes out of his mouth so he looks like he knows what he is saying.
