I posted a thread about voter registration (and a few other issues) and volunteerism and I ended up putting half the people who piled on, on ignore.

Somebody started the meme "concern troll" a few months ago. Now anybody who posts anything that implies that everything isn't absolutely fucking perfect with roses on it gets stomped on.

On some days half the posts in this place look like they were typed in 10 seconds, and have no context.

There is such a high noise to signal ratio sometimes that it's hard to quickly find your information.

Many of the posters here seem to watch 4 TV shows at the same time so they can be first to post about it. And then for the next 3 days, people post the exact same thing as they hear it. Look at the Batman=Bush WSJ article that has at least seven different threads last I checked.

There are two solutions.

1: Try the search engine, and then post your question if you don't find the answer and include the fact that you searched.

2: Quit your job, watch 4 channels all day long, read every single post, memorize them, and then dump on other people that don't do that.

And, don't take it personally when a bunch of anonymous people on a website get upset with another anonymous person on a website. :-)
