committing the largest flip-flop I have ever, ever seen in American politics:

McCain says he could support 16-month Iraq timetable

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/07/28/mccain.larryking/index.html?eref=onion

Plenty of other lies (Saddam+WMD=Scary), evasion (well, sorta maybe timetable if I don't change my mind again), and senile-sounding defenses of bad policies (He doesn't think we should go after bin Laden in Pakistan, because, and I quote, "I think the Pakistanis would want bin Laden out of their hair and out of their country"--forget which side you took, John?) if you want to read it. The take-home, though, is McCain joining the Obama/Maliki timetable bandwagon.

1. Of course, this is huge. But McCain has changed so much, so often - will the media notice?
Prediction: McCain denies this tomorrow.

2. Now here's my question - why don't we skip the middle man and simply elect

Petreaus - what the hell do we need McCain for? He's just going to do what Petreaus wants so why don't we elect the decision maker and not the messenger.

great post

4. Petreaus would be a hell of an upgrade
that man can at least accomplish a task and run an organization.

I don't have much confidence I could write Senator McCain a list and send him to the grocery with any good results. I don't think he should even remain in Congress because he hasn't a clue.

People of Arizona, why do you vote for this guy? It would seem like he would be assailed from both directions every six years. I guess he's just losing it, but he doesn't come across as someone that was ever the brightest star in the sky.

6. Arizona Might Not Vote for McCain for President
Arizona is now considered "in play", even by McCain's campaign.

5. roflmao

Priceless. The guy wants to be there for 100 years in New Hampshire and now it's 16 months.

Maybe this is a set up for - "McCain, the flexible candidate!"

7. It only matters if it gets MSM coverage
It's like that puzzle of the tree falling in the forrest with no one there.

Bush said a lot of stupid-ass stuff 4 years ago too.

McInsane's aura of a creepy old man trying to lure children into his car can't be hidden.
