Didn't McCain learn anything from Jan Brady's mistake?

yesterday on CNN, Wolf Blitzer asked him, what if Maliki demands the U.S. withdraw troops.

McCain's answer was a very firm, "He won't! He won't!" Wolf then says, how do you know? McCain: "Because I know him!" Of course, McCain has no control over what Maliki does and can't make any such promise.

The thing that obviously comes to mind to most Americans is the time when Jan was running for Most Popular Girl, and she made all these promises that she had no intention of keeping, but the worst thing was that she promised that other people to fulfill. Then when the time came to pay up, Greg did not have time to help Jan's moron classmate with his math homework.

It was terrible, and Jan was shamed, but she learned her lesson and America learned it vicariously. All except for John McCain.
