5. Economic summit on Monday.... wants to do it mid-week to generate most buzz...

If he waits until the weekend, the buzz is less.

If he waits until next week, he bumps up against the Olympics.

He had to do it today or tomorrow.... or he'll have to wait until the Olympics ends on August 24th.

That's too late.

It's tomorrow.

22. Well aren't you on top of things!
I just started learning about Gov Tim Kaine and he seems like he'd work well with Obama. If Obama chooses him then he has the confidence that they will work well together to implement his vision for Big Change.

6. Wouldn't he want to tell the press that he was going to announce?
I think John Kerry told the press. Then we saw him that morning with John Edwards. Don't the candidates usually tell in advance so they can get a lot of press?

19. Perhaps he wants to steamroll both McWar and the L$M in one shot?
I think that it would be a great idea, myself. I don't know what he has planned for the rest of the week, but it would be nice to see someone classy enough NOT to "out" his VP on some lame, late-nite talk show FOR ONCE...

18. Lieut. Gov. of VA is a Repube. If the Dems win in Nov, VA will have a Repube Gov.
who will run for election in 2009 as an incumbent. That's why you don't pick Kaine.

28. Could He?
Could he run as an incumbant? Virginia governors are limite dto one term or does being an "acting governor" not count?

31. Being an "acting Governor" doesn't count towards the one-term limit.
So conceivably the Repube Lt. Governor could be Governor of Virginia for five years.

Another reason not to choose Kaine.

40. Tomorrow, Obama will campaign with Claire McCaskill in MO.
Somehow, I doubt he will announce there. And honestly, I hope he does not choose Kaine. Quite a turn off (except for those who think we need a very moderate Democrat or a Republican).
