Obama campaign already having impact (HOUSE APOLOGY re: slavery)
Edited on Tue Jul-29-08 08:17 PM by Number23
Good or bad, Obama's campaign is already having tremendous impact.

I know that Clinton apologized for slavery when he was in office, but today we get this:

"The House on Tuesday issued an unprecedented apology to black Americans for the wrongs committed against them and their ancestors who suffered under slavery and Jim Crow segregation laws.

"Today represents a milestone in our nation's efforts to remedy the ills of our past," said Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, D-Mich., chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus."

Perhaps it's because of his campaign but lately, it seems as if there's much more interest in the stories of Black Americans and we've been in the news lately like never before. Maybe it just feels different.

CNN did a recent special, and we've been on more magazine covers in the last six months than in the previous 10 years. Tingly stuff...

1. Have they already apologized to the Native Americans?
From what I have read, the government is still screwing them over.
