would be to compile a photo display of all the Republicans caught up in scandals since Bush took office...

Such people would include, but is not limited to: Skooter Libby, Jack Abramhof, Duke Cunningham, Larry Craig, David Vitter, Ted Stevens, and of course, Vito "2 families" Fossella...

"Rep. Vito Fossella (R) of Staten Island was stopped by a police officer for running a red light. Turns out he was drunk. Worse, yet, turns out he was on the way to visit his family in Virginia, a family that his wife and children in New York didn't know about. The tabloids went crazy: Vito Finito as they put it".......

I think we need to start hitting the Republicans a little harder than that recent "Hope" ad....

I hope Democrats use these Republican scandals to their advantage, many great political ads could come from this....

1. I really don't like equating Hope with the Anti-Drug message played
throughout the 80's... and I really don't think we need the idea of "Drugs" and "Black Man" equated together like this. I think the ad sucks. I think the ad is more than silly.. I think it actually works against the candidate.. and I have to wonder.. who is MoveOn supporting?

2. Where is the DNC? Sad to say but no one takes MoveOn.org seriously.
The M$M has done an exceptional job maligning the organization as a radical, leftist outfit.

All of this is code language for being an “uppity negro” who has forgotten his place and I do think it will work. I’ve stated many times that Obama will lose this election. The Democrats are so weak; they allow McCain to get away with making outrageous statements. They all need to be demanding an apology from McCain. Had Obama made those statements, the RNC would be shouting; the Republicans would be calling for a congressional resolution condemning Obama. And the sad thing is that Democrats would join to pass it. The press coverage and obsession with Obama is good for McCain. Why? Because it allows the media to cover for McCain when he makes an outrageous or false remark. He continues to get away with doing so on a near daily basis. So while all the attention is directed on Obama, the door is open for higher scrutiny. Everything he says and does is under the microscope. Meanwhile, McCain has joined forces with Karl Rove to go on the attack. Where are the Democrats? Where is the Democratic leadership? Why aren’t they defending Obama? Is it a set-up for Hillary at the convention? Will Obama be so battered and beaten up that he’ll be unelectable and Hillary would be proven right?

Obama will also likely suffer from “Obama fatigue.” I’m tired of hearing about him myself. All of this is done by design, to help McCain who has always been the darling of the media.

Obama will lose this election because I don’t see how he fights back against the media, and without the help of the Democrats, the leadership, he’s fighting all by himself.

3. I thought the Hope ad was created for the MTV/Comedy Central type audience only....
Edited on Wed Jul-30-08 07:52 AM by nc4bo
has anyone seen it airing anywhere else?

It's light for a reason - specifically for those audiences.

I could be wrong so, as you were ;) (the "as you were" isn't snark.......I actually meant for it to mean to continue discussing lol.) Just wanted to clear that up ;)

6. I think you're right
I read the same thing, it's not geared toward the masses.

I thought it was pretty funny myself.

4. I really like MoveOn's "They Said He Was Unprepared..." ad

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuVNZPoVPYg

I don't think MoveOn created any of these ads, it was part of a submission contest by its members.

7. It was one of the entries in the Obama in 30 Contest
If it's the one I'm thinking about. Maybe MoveOn is rolling out entries other than the winning one, in order to have content that can be aired up until the election.

It's okay. There were some other really great ones. My favorite was the Zippers ad. :)
