We ALL need to start calling the media the "republican media"
complete with that disdainful tone of voice that they have used with the word liberal. We need to make "republican" a dirty word. With all the young people involved in politics this year, we just might be able to make it happen, too. Because those young people are definitely NOT conservative. They remember hearing all of us talking about how horrible the press was during the Clinton years and about how horrible the republicans were then and still are now. They grew up listening to us being apalled with Rove tactics. Those new voters cut their teeth on these political discussions around our kitchen tables and in our family rooms, turning off the television in disgust.

And I don't mean calling Fox republican, because they are nothing less than right wing wackos. I mean all the other cable news channels and network news and shows like The View. It's time we called a spade a spade. It's time we stopped being victim to media bias. It's time to take action.

In addition to the emails I have sent The View today, I am emailing my rather racist democratic in-laws about what The View did. And I will let my disdain drip from every word about the disgusting republican media. In addition, I will dig up some stuff on Lou Dobbs because they think he's just grand. If anyone has something at their fingertips where Lou lied or exaggerated, let me know, please. I haven't let that man be on my teevee in a long, long time so I don't know anything current.

Anybody with me?

1. I'm with you, JZ...I might suggest:
"Corporate Media" as a bit more apt, but there's not a helluva lot of difference between these two entities.

2. I thought about using corporate. I decided to stick it to the republicans
though and drive the point home. Either way, we need to make it clear that the corporations that own most of the media are republicans and want a republican in the White House for their own profit margins.

We need to make it clear that the silent majority is composed of folks who are against this war and for universal health care. The silent majority is against racism and sexism. The silent majority is now US and we vote and we control a large portion of the money that corporations want us to spend on THEM.

Jesus, I've tired myself out now. Don't think I can rant much more in one day. :)
