1. It's a shame that the only way ads get played on these shows...
is if they are outrageous and full of smears.

If that's what it takes, don't hold your breath waiting for one of Obama's ads being played on TV 24/7.

4. The ad is laughable at first view. However, the repugs are experts at taking a positive and turning
it into a negative. They are trying to get in front of Barack's acceptance speech by placing it in the minds of voters that 75 K plus screaming "fans" doesn't equate to him being the better candidate, just more "popular". We cannot afford to take anything too lightly, and I think that Barack and his surrogates should hit back against McSame with every opportunity they have to speak. The news media, as always, have proven that they are willing participants in making sure that this race remains a "horse race", so giving McSame free advertising does not bother them at all.

6. They are attacking a strength.
But, this strength they chose is not an easy one to attack. Like John Prine says,

"You can fool some of the people some of the time,
in a rock n' roll song.
50 million Elvis Presley fans can't be all wrong."

7. So Rove has it set up, ala 2004. Cut despicable ad, buddies in media play it ad nauseum. Classic.

Elizabeth Holmes (from the WSJ, the reporter that McCain allegedly "dissed" the other day in a press conference), in her article about the ad, also included a clip made by progressiveaccountability.org, which splices together Britney's "we should support our president and not question him!" clip with McCain saying the same stuff about GWB on Meet the Press .
