The McCain Camp Walked Right Into Our Trap By Going So Negative, Now They're The "Same Old Politics"

I love how the Obama camp sat back for weeks and just let the McCain camp go negative. After they released 4 or 5 negative adds, they were branded the more negative camp and the Obama team is now hitting them with the "same old politics" line.

From this time forward, the McCain camp will be the same old politics because they went so negative first. And by making him the "same old politics" the Obama camp is also associating McCain with the past. Past = old. McCain also looks angry (grumpy) as a result of his negativity.

It was a brilliant strategy and I think now that it's been put into effect, the Obama rapid response has been turned on and they be hitting back immediately.

A lot of you thought Obama was taking the high road, or being a wimp...no mis amigos. He was just waiting for the McCain people to walk into the trap that had been laid out for them. And now it's game on.

I hope the OP is correct, but seeing as how the ENTIRE McCampaign is centered around painting Obama in a hideous light, turning him into a monster, unfit to walk the streets, let alone lead a parade, you won't see this tactic go away, because it's ALL they've got

it's all the republicans have EVER run on.....since 1988 at least (giving Reagan a break for running almost as positive as negative campaigns, cause they didn't have to do anything else.....oops, forgot about the October Surprise. that was actually crucial to his winning against Carter). they HAVE nothing to run on, besides their taxcut panacea

5. Except negative campaigning works

And saying "fie on you" for being negative may not reverse the damage that has already been done. I'm not saying that damage was unavoidable; McCain was going to attack at some point and no campaign can react instantaneously. I just don't know if setting that kind of "trap", if they actually did that, has rewards that are worth the risks.

But when McWhine does ONLY negative campaigning, and when his negative campaigning is little more than flailing and reacting to the positive thungs Obama is doing, he is, in fact walking into a trap. And now Obama is running a very effective counterpunch ad showing that McWhine = Bush and offers only the same tired bullshit.

I don't think this kind of stupid negative campaigning by McWhine will work at all.
