McCain's problem is that he's not a sociopathic liar..

he's a liar, but not like bush. The shrub is able to internalize lies and spew them without thinking. He was perfectly comfortable with allowing Rove to be his brain. He's able to sit back and let others do his thinking for him. McCain is utterly incapable of doing this. He's used to controlling his own message. They're foolishly trying to run a bush-like campaign without bush.

The weird John King interview convinced me that McCain can't go through with this to the end. Something is going to give. As he's standing their very uncomftorably affirming the lie that his campaign just put out, he's thinking to himself, "Of course Obama is right. It is a central strategy of our campaign to make people afraid of him".

I was watching his town hall meeting in Wisconsin yesterday and this little 18 year old girl stood up and tearfully talked about how afraid she is of Obama. McCain's reaction was to smile and say thank you.

Rethug mouthpiece Rush Limbaugh has for months been mocking Obama by calling him "Hussein".

Obama trumped these people by innoculating himself against further veiled racists attacks. People are going to be hyper-sensitized to them now. I predict that within the next month, the Obama campaign will be saying "I told you so" and McCain will once again look like a fool, and he knows it.

It's going to be a long 4 months for John McCain.

1. I am more and more convinced that the repukes are not even going to try this time.
They are waiting for Obama to clean up the mess, and then they will try to get back the White House.
