1. The GOP knew what it was doing by screaming "race!". Now watch the media
take the bait like hungry trout--everything else will be drowned out.

8. Unfortunately Obama is helping them along with his comments.
The majority of people who oppose Obama do so out of differences in policy. A tiny percentage of this nation will vote based on race (even counting on minorities who will vote exclusively for members of their group). It is detrimental for Obama supporters to harp on race and even more so for the candidate to bring it up in speeches.

85 of the country rthinks we're going in the wrong direction but only 50% poll for Obama.

The other 35% that think the pukies have screwed up the country are nervous about voting for a black man.

It's not support for McCain's policy, but fear of race.

12. You will have to show me solid proof demonstrated in polling
data before I consider the comment. What is the source of information?

10. Please. You have no credibility with me. You have an agenda, and
it's not to see Obama elected President.

14. The only way to avoid an Obama defeat is to give him gravitas
that his short career has not gained for him. If he chooses another "new to the stage" VP, he will have to convince the nation that both of the new guys (or new guy and new gal) can be counted upon while times are bad. that is an impossible task. Clinton will remind the nation of the last time we lived in peace and prosperity. Obama added to a VP without immediate clout and recognition will sink him.

If you want Obama to be elected you will swallow your pride and do the smart thing.

I'm afraid, however, there are too many in the Obama camp and on this board who will be satisfied to lose a good fight so that they can spend years whining about how oppresed they are.

15. I agree he needs to pick a running mate with a weighty resume.
That's why I wanted Jack Reed, or Joe Biden, or even Evan Bayh. They are all far more impressive, achievement-wise, than Hillary.

19. Obama's comments were right-on (esp. when he told the protesters that, if they don't see things
as he does, they can vote for someone else...or run for office themselves!).

Loved his response.

4. It won't work if they're looking to diffuse the black vote.
And it will work to dampen the entire idea of the scary (OH NOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS), scary, scary black guy folks.

I hope so anyway.

6. It will be interesting if they try to interview this group
It might backfire on the media. This group disagrees with the MSM as much as they disagree with Obama.

13. The sad thing is that Obama addressed all of the issues very well.
Did these young men actually do some research on Obama? Do they realize what Chicago South Side is like at all. These Florida youngsters think they are tough.. they don't even know tough. Its pretty sad and silly to see how mis-informed and used they are.

17. Uhh, I live here thank you.. and its no South Side Chicago.. its bad,
but no where near as bad. I understand their frustration and anger.. but they need to work with ALL Americans to insure equality... Division keeps us down. They don't understand where to place their rightful anger.
