5. don't worry about us, pal
Obama will still be the next President.

And he will not sully himself with Republican pigshit while he's at it.

You're free to root around in it all you want, though.

22. I'm sick and tired of watching Repub sleazy tactics work so well
Just sick of it

Perhaps if the rest of the Dem party could get out there and give Obama some support it might help but this is playing out too much like the 04 election cycle for my comfort level

24. We'll see. I don't think rooting in the sewers is going to help =
I think outsmarting them is the way to go, but that might require actual consensus among Dem talking heads. Grab the talking point and don't let go.

Which is the only REAL weakness here.

The repubs can stay on a talking point like a rotweiller on a mailman. The Dems? not so much.

THAT'S how they won TWICE. Well, they got close enough to steal twice.

SO:

1. Grab talking point.

2. Dominate talking point with catchy phrase.

3. Shout down the opposition.

4. Profit!!

27. That and they are unified in their approach
Call it what you will but they sang the same tune all the time

Hell we can't even get enough Dems together to block a filibuster

Forgive if you will for seeming disillusioned by the Dem leadership, but as the equity from my home dissolved into a Federal Bail-out for felonious Corporate CEOs running our lending institutions, Fuel cost out weighing meals for my children, living under the constant threat of Bankruptcy / Servitude from rising Healthcare cost, I feel the average American has a lot at stake here.

The mood of a majority of working Americans is “If the Dem party can’t get it together enough to get the job done we’ll find some one who will”

26. On Monday McCain will be ahead by 2 points
and Obama's negative image will begin to crystallize. it is Gore/Kerry all over again. I am so very angry because Obama is being introduced and defined to America by McCain over the last week and now comes the new McCain attack ad about Divine Obama. When are we going to learn?

23. Disinformation is never good
McCain is receiving a bounce from his negative campaign ads and corporate ruled media.

You want to do some good tell everyone to call the representatives and ask them put a stop to the disinformation and propaganda being spewed towards the American public under the guise of "News"

7. The M$M will say it's a trend, but it's not a trend. It's a shake-out.
The racists are making their decisions, the fearful ones are being heard in greater numbers, the dumbasses are coming out of the woodwork. It's just the time of the season, and we've got 3 months for the best-run campaign in my lifetime (my first vote was for Humphrey) to run its course.

Relax, do not worry, and have a good weekend!

Edited on Fri Aug-01-08 12:36 PM by JackORoses
McCain has started this too early.

Deceptions like this only work if people don't have any time to think about them.

You see polls being affected now because the initial uninformed reaction of people may be negative, but if they have time to actually discover the truth, then guess who they blame for deceiving them?

McCain is building a Campaign of Lies that will not hold together for 90 days.
It cannot sustain itself because it is an illusion.

25. Not always. There's a reason why it is usually done carefully.
The swift boat attacks were done by proxy for a reason. Rove knew they could backfire. Also, if you look at the most notable negative attacks done directly by a campaign (e.g., Willie Horton, Saxby Chambliss, Bob Corker, and Jesse Helms' "white hands" ad), they are usually done MUCH later.

McCain chose to go negative directly, and he chose to do it in July. This is typical of his extremely undisciplined campaign, and it's going to hurt him.

29. I'm not worried yet
McCain still never has been over 44%. We CAN NOT let him surge ahead in August like what happened to Kerry, though. Much more of a trend and name the VP pick plus get very tough.

30. So what?
McCain has played his hand early, going so negative so quickly. If Obama can keep his cool and stay disciplined, this is going to put the McCain campaign in a difficult spot. How much more negative can they go before it backfires big-time?

32. This is troubling. I fear that regardless of what tactics Obama decides
to use, the media will be able to distort his message to suit their purposes. The media is employed by a crime syndicate.
