I was young when his dad was in the senate. My recollection is that he was a real leader. Evan just ain't got it.

2. I remember reading an article that compared him to Dan Quayle. |
|
It was a long time ago but the essence of the article was that Bayh is an empty suit. To me, he doesn't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed.

3. Do you think that this is by design? |

Obama planning on reducing the office of the VP's foot print to its traditional level?
The end of co-presidencies on the horizon.

6. It could be that the buzz is right but sometimes the buzz goes awry. |
|
And the Obama team seems to be very agile in its moves on the court.
I'll wait 'em out to see what comes.
If they ring me up, I'm going to make the case for Barbara Boxer, Bill Bradley, and Brian Schweitzer. With Biden as Sec. of State and John Edwards or Russ Feingold for AG. I'd like Max Cleland in a major role, very possible Veterans. I'd like to see Joe Hogsett as assistant AG. And how about Bill Moyers, Mario Cuomo, and John Lewis as a Special Advisors Group for the 8-to-16 year Blue agenda?

14. Eh, the Bayh bashing is getting tiresome. He may or may not be Obama's pick, but |
|
he's a safe choice who won't fuck it up for us. He's not my favorite politician, and I used to bash him too, but he's not dumb--he's no Quayle. He's managed to win repeatedly in a red state and to keep his approval ratings up--that takes some skill (I know, I live in a red state where the GOPers love Ben Nelson--I see Nelson and Bayh as two peas in a pod).

16. It's not going to be Bayh. It's just too obvious at this point. |
|
I still get the sense that the decision is being kept under tight wraps. The mere fact that there are so many "signals" about Bayh makes me think that it's just a ruse by the Obama campaign to distract people from the real choice.
This isn't an opinion for or against Bayh. I just don't think they will choose him.
