A Wes Clark Email
A little over a month ago, following my appearance on Face the Nation, the right wing freak machine took me out of context, attacked me, and just wanted me to "hit the road."

Well, I'm here to tell you: I'm not going away.

We simply have too much to do in these final three months. We have to elect Barack Obama the next president of the United States. And we have to give him a working majority in Congress. So let's give the right wing what they asked for. I'm ready to "hit the road" and help Democrats across the country!

Contribute to WesPAC's "Hit The Road Fund!" Help us raise $25,000 by this Friday.

http://securingamerica.com/HitTheRoad

I'm committed to doing everything I can to help Democrats win this November. I've opened up my schedule and am ready to hit the campaign trail across the country. That's why I'm traveling across the country over the coming weeks.

I can only do this if WesPAC has the financial resources to keep me on the road these final three months. That's why we started the "Hit The Road Fund." I need your help to make sure I can stay on the campaign trail to help folks like Charlie Brown (CA-4), Eric Massa (NY-29), and Bob Tuke (TN-Sen).

I've set a goal of raising $25,000 by this Friday. Make a contribution to our "Hit The Road Fund" today!

http://securingamerica.com/HitTheRoad

When people hit you, you have to hit back. I won't back away from a fight, and over the years we've gotten to know each other, I know you won't either. Please contribute to our "Hit The Road Fund" today!

http://securingamerica.com/HitTheRoad

Electing the right people this November will be critical to securing America's future. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Wes Clark

1. his PAC shares it's name with the theme of the VP's night speech, hmmm
Update: VP speaker's theme shares name of Wes Clark PAC
Perhaps it's just a coincidence, but Barack Obama's campaign and the Democratic Convention organizers seem like they might be dropping a big hint about who's going to grab the No. 2 spot on the ticket.

5. I was going to post a thread on that
Has it already been posted? I heard the name of the VP theme on the radio driving home, and that thought occurred to me immediately!

I can't get my hopes up, though.

3. Can you imagine the enthusiasm and strength having Clark on the tickect would exude?
The corporate media and the RNC would be up Bush creek, without their Ferragamo loafers.

17. I'm liking it a lot - especially with this Georgia/Russia thing.
Clark knows his fp stuff and would be a great asset.

4. Not sure Wes would help the campaign so much
But he would be a hell of an asset to any administration. One of the most competent people around. Compared to Wes Clark, most Rethuglicans have the IQ of a carrot.

8. I think he's the perfect compliment to a President Obama. We have the R's licked on the economy.
The only question in the minds of voters was National Security, and McSame is no match for Clark on this issue. HA!

9. Clark is NOT a light weight on the economy
His 2004 campaign did not have the time to flesh it out well, but he was working towards a very intriguing progressive economic policy. BTW Jim Webb has also written some really interesting articles on progressive economic policies. While both these guys have (for obvious reasons) major street cred on national security, neither has been blind to the injustices and inefficiencies of conservative economic policies, and both have spent some time think through alternatives.

Which reinforces my conviction he has a lot to contribute to an Obama administration. The problem is (let's face it) Wes sucks as a campaigner. His considerable talents just do not fall in that area.

That consideration would not keep me from doing the happy dance if Obama chooses Clark as his running mate.

13. Good to note on the record.

If I recall, he was a Rhodes Scholar who studied economics? I also like Webb, I'd do a happy dance about either as well. :hi:

20. Haven't kept up with him ... will check out your references
Was referring to what he seemed to be trying to put together for 2004. Like I said, I don't think he ever finished fleshing it out ... but the skeleton appeared sound.

25. Did you follow Wes in 2006 at all?
He campaigned in 94 districts, mostly in red states. He's a barn burner now. He and Obama were the two most requested Democrats by congressional candidates.

18. He also proudly calls himself a liberal.
Clark is no shrinking violet and although his presidential campaign had it's flaws, he would compliment Obama a great deal as his VP.

From the south, Catholic, former General, former Supreme Allied Commander....the man is the only one who can diss McCain's military crap and get away with it.

12. I wonder what the RW Freak Machine would find in Clark's closet?
Not a helluva lot I expect. Somehow I can't see Wes Clark being brought down by an affair, bad financial dealings or shady friends. He'd shred McCain on his #1 topic the military. I think he'd make a great VP.
