Tom Ridge was on Hardball, telling Matthews that McCain will win Pennsylvania...
...and with it, the entire doggone race.

What a joke! According to Elecotralvote.com, the most recent poll in Pennsylvania has Obama up by 6% (Kerry's GE margin), and the convention hasn't even happened yet! It was a battleground state in our primary, but not in the GE. Obama will win this state by a higher margin than Kerry did, and Ridge thinks McCain has a chance?

The guy thinks he has a chance as McCain's VP, and he did a good job of kissing ass, but I'm not buying it.

1. We ought to pay attention
It's important to know early which state(s) are likely to be stolen. I have to admit I didn't think it was going to be Ohio in 2004 or Florida in 2000.

18. A Pa resident ...
1) We have a second term D governor who smashed his opponent - though admittedly a lightweight ....
2) Ridge has reasonable control of the state ... This isn't like Ohio with Blackwell or Florida with entrenched R machinary running the state ... His horse - Hill won in the primary ... His horse this time is BO ...
3) I was anxious to see how polling looked after the primary, and I feel pretty good at this point ... Has been in the 6-8 point range never dipping below that ...
4) Pa is one of BO's top states, by a wide margin, in registering new voters ...
5) BO BY FAR has McCain outorganized in Pa ... He set a massive foundation in the primary, and they were up and running for the general a month or so ago ... FULL SPEED ...

If BO were to lose Pa, something VERY dramatic will have happened, and he will have lost A LOT of other states ...

Ridge would be a factor, no doubt ... Given the above, I still would like BO's chances ... But, if the VP is anyone but Ridge, I would pretty much bank PA, again, unless something VERY big happens ... IF Ridge were on the ticket, that makes it a REAL horse race ...

6. That means Ridge just announced they are planning on stealing PA.
That is what it amounts to. PA had better be careful.

15. He was on CNN this morning pushing the idea that Obama NEEDS Hillary...
As a PA resident, I'm sick of hearing him.

17. Well obviously he wants Clinton...
But don't expect him to say he'll lose PA without her.

10. I believe Kerry's margin was only in the 2-4 point range.
I was looking at Pennsylvania a couple of weeks ago, and Obama held a 6 point lead, and I recall checking and seeing that was as much as Gore and Kerry won by combined.

13. Is Ridge going to try to put out more PHONEY warnings like he did before?
I would love Ridge to be the McQuack VP nominee.

We could skewer him for lying to the American people about terrorist warnings he later admitted that he had no idea why they were made and he would scare the GOP because he is supposedly pro-choice.

Pick Tom, Johnny Songbird!

16. Screw Ridge - He's a handjob...
Mr. Color coded chart, Fred Flintstone looking, duct tape and plastic tarp shilling, DHS running asshole.
He's a REPUKE!
WHO CARES WHAT HE SAYS?
WHO CARES WHAT TWEETY SAYS?
If they have their mouths open they are either eating, lying, or worse yet, slurping each other.
ALL HE DOES IS KISS ASS.
That is how he makes his money.
Kissing ASS and whoring for the Right Wing spin machine.
THAT'S HIS JOB.
THAT'S ALL THEIR JOBS.
Hardball.
Give me a break.
The only thing "hard" about "Hardball" is how "hard" they all get thinking about all the money they are making.
