Was there any upside to this bizzarro little thing that played out tonight? A smug fat supply side Jesus freak from wacko Born Again land central gets somehow the right to call out a little talk on his own turf.

McCain got what he needed. The official Oprah of the Jesus hates poor people and gays infomercial.

This was a colossal mistake. This one is gonna hurt.

3. It wasn't a mistake....and I get tired of imagining the hair pulling.....
It was an experience, and Barack will be fine.

The difference is those smart enough to watch this on C-Span, versus those allowing talking pundit heads to con them.

5. No. It will show people that McCain is far more conservative than he makes out to be.

8. It'll also show them that he doesn't think anything through.
He spewed talking points from from his speeches and told the same POW stories that he's been telling for years. He hit the right buttons for the fundie audience.

Obama took the whole thing seriously. He gave serious thought to his answers and allowed that people can disagree and still have valid points. When he quoted scripture, he only did so when it was directly related to the question. He used scripture correctly.. as life's guidelines.

McCain was adamant about everything he said. Low taxes, end Roe v. Wade, school vouchers, etc. He didn't quote any scripture because he probably doesn't know any.

I think Obama did very well for himself tonight.

6. I thought it went great.
Obama was relaxed, comfortable and very thoughtful with his answers. I enjoyed it.

9. Im not so sure
I expected more of Warren. Not sure why, maybe good vibes from back when he was one of the better of a really bad lot.

But in the mean time, McCain sure acted a lot like GWB tonight. He said the right things for the RW base. But will that really help him in the greater populace, or will that black and white shit make normal people realize what he is?

11. I don't think Warren did very well, either.
I'd never seen him before, and I don't think much of his personal skill.

10. The only mistake I saw was that Warren...
let McCain ramble on and on and there were no follow ups on any questions. McCain just gave a his same old stump speech and Obama was GREAT!

12. (Hand Down)

I didn't think it would be a mistake - - it's always good to venture into unfriendly territory. And Obama did so and gave a very, very strong performance. Don't be swayed by what Gergen and the ridiculous Dana Bash had to say. Even the punditoids on Faux thought Obama did well. A tie here is a win for Obama. All is good.

13. No hand up here
Obama did fine, risked nothing and gained the opportunity to possibly change some minds about him. All good, imo.
