I have begun to believe it might actually be Schweitzer.
I have no information other than my gut -- and it is pulling me there this morning for the first time in a while.

Has he been ruled out already?

1. No one has been ruled out.
My husband heard him talk the other day and immediately thought the same thing.

2. I'd be really happy with Schweitzer or Webb. Finally, common sense would return to Washington.

5. I heard Schweitzer
rule himself out.
He said his dog (a herding/working Border Collie named Jag), who goes EVERYWHERE with him, would never tolerate living in Washington DC.

7. Yes, but his stated goal is to "change the world".
What better position to do that right now than as VP?

He'd take it if offered.

10. I love the guy
He is as real as they get.
I just can't picture him happy in Washington with his boots that still have REAL cowshit hanging on them.

11. The VP has the option of traveling a lot.
It's not like he'd be stuck in D.C.

...but I know what you mean.

12. I loved this quote of his:
“If I stay in Washington for more than 72 hours, ... I have to bathe myself in the same stuff I use when my dog gets into a fight with a skunk.”

He'd be a great VP! I think he appeals to a wide range of people. The right wing will not be able to get away with calling Schweitzer an elitist. :eyes:

13. Oh man..that's priceless
That's the kind of talk that can only come from a hard-working down-home real farm boy.
(he probably drinks whiskey "neat" and can use his fists too) :P

6. Maybe It Was Something You Ate For Breakfast
Seriously, I like him and I think he would help in the western states. I'm not convinced that it is going that way .

9. You have NO idea how much I hope you're right.
Schweitzer would be an absolutely perfect choice.

He can help us win in November by picking up a lot of rural voters.

He can make a big difference as VP, especially with his energy and land-use plans.

He'd get enough seasoning in eight years to make a good Presidential candidate in 2016.

I'd be thrilled.
