~~ Has everyone seen the giant BLUE BEAR that will be watching our convention?? ~~
It is too cool! ~~

Lawrence Argent's Big Blue Bear sculpture
is now available in miniatures.

Denver University reports that they will be selling miniature versions of the blue bear at the Convention Center.

The little bears are on sale now at the Denver Convention Center, Denver Art Museum and the Denver Visitor Information Center.
The smallest version is $12.99 and the 8-inch bear is $18.99.

12. Nah, it's only one bear.
If it was the Dead, they would need more.....

Of course, the surviving members of the Dead DID have a benefit for Obama a few months back.....

11. That's the kind of thing that's funny when you're in a touristy craft store
and when you get it home after a few days you wonder why the fuck you ever got it.

16. However, the DNC won't be at the Convention Center, where the bear is
Edited on Thu Aug-21-08 05:00 PM by DavidD
It will be at the Pepsi Center, which is quite a few miles away from the Convention Center.

It's a cool bear, though.

18. Many events are at the Convention Center
Other than 3-9PM at the Pepsi Ctr (and Invesco on Thursday) caucus meetings are held next to the Bear.

21. There's also a huge red chair with a pinto horse standing on it
in front of the Denver Library.

Whimsy all over.

PLUS!!! Monday, August 25th, the Denver Art Museum (right next to the Library) is free all day.

But you're right, it's not a few miles. It just seems that way on a hot day.

19. The Blue Bear has been there since...
the city expanded (basically re-built) the convention center 5 years ago or so. Also, the Convention Center is only about 1 mile from the Pepsi Center. Denver resident here.

I bought a miniature for my gf when I was in Denver. She put in on a window sill looking outward. It's really quite cute. :)
