Location location location....seating chart for the states.
Seating chart for states.

August 24, 2008
Location, Location, Location

The final seating chart for the convention was released earlier today with Delaware landing prime real estate right in front of the stage now that their guy has been tapped to be Barack Obama's VP.

The delegates from the second-smallest state used to be seated up in the nosebleed section of the Pepsi Center. But their lot in life has improved considerably.

(However, as Ben notes, someone at the convention committee neglected to spell check).

Not so for the New York delegation members - all but about four rows of whom will be seated off the floor along with other true-blue states that don't merit special treatment like Massachusetts and California.

Illinois, is, of course, seated front-and-center. Also on the floor are most of the swing states and the host state and DNC Chairman Howard Dean's home state, Vermont.

Here is the enlarged version of the chart.

Medium size hard to read.

(OLD post: Just a question...not at all trying to raise a controversy. I just want to see where my state delegates are seated. Thanks!)

NEW post: Duh, I found WI and they have a great central location.

NEVER MIND! Sorry I posted.

8. They're right above Georgia, section 122.
Doesn't look like a bad spot to me.

14. That is extremely close.
They're maybe 20 feet above stage-level and not too far away with a really nice center view.

Gotta keep in mind that the floor usually has no seating at all.

During sporting events, where MO is are some sweet seats. The 300's are the nosebleed section.

Dems abroad and South Dakota are the ones who got shafted. It looks like some of their seats will have obstructed views.

16. They had to put MO someplace.
MO is definitely in play. Jay Nixon (D) will become Governor and that's nothing but good for Obama. I don't think rural MO is jumping for joy to vote for McCain. It could be an all-nighter because, of course, St. Louis always comes in last.

7. Any particular reason why RI is in Siberia?
Are they just taking the state completely for granted, or is it something else?

19. Missouri's seating is kind of odd...
Awfully far in the back for a swing-state with such a prominent supporter.

21. None of the seats are far away.
Why doesn't anyone understand just how small this place is? lol

The shitty seats are off to the side. See Oregon.

20. NC is definitely a swing state for Obama and yet we are in the very back?
Someone with Obama's Campaign made a big mistake here .... Local polling has Obama within a couple of points of McCain in NC.

It sure would have helped to have NC near the front like Virginia.
