Wow, that man is a ROCK! I've heard that those are really really painful.
Although probably not as painful as gall stones for men...

8. yeah, he looked like he had an IV in his hand. The bandage was covering it up.
I wouldn't be surprised if he was given IV fluids before and after the speech so he could make it.

14. I've had kidney stones, and they hurt like a SOB
Feels sort of like somebody sticking a knife in your back. And depending on where it is, its much worse for a man than a woman. It has, um, how to say this, farther to go. If its still in the kidney, its the same for both.

20. Yes, it's known to be the closest a man can know how being in labor feels...
I had a real bad bout of them many years ago, and another a few months ago. Coincidentally, I'm going in for a cat scan on this Thursday to check if I have more of them, etc. I can definitely sympathize with him. I remember having to drive through Friday evening rush hour traffic in the Bay Area when a bout kicked into high gear. I had to recline my seat heavily and barely could look through the windshield in bumper to bumper traffic... I'm guessing he felt somewhat like that.
