SHOULD THEY FIRE THE SOUND GUY?

I'm so sick of the person controlling the music at the convention. When a person finishes their speech the music comes on with a half minute delay. Come On! Lift up your game sound guy! How fustrating!

What should they do with the sound guy?

1. My son is in a band..it's always their NUMBER ONE complaint

the sound guy. He has the power to make em sound great or make em sound awful. Or sound gal...

3. As a tech who works primarily in sound

I know how hard a job it is to work with non-professionals. They probably got little to no information to script the performance. Even if it was scripted well, those on stage could have thrown a monkey wrench into the works by not following the script. The only sound guys I've worked with who could deal with non-professionals or ad-lib situations are few and far between.

4. I wouldn't put it past Fox for leaving the audience mics and direct mix off on purpose, to cause the

whole event to seem lame. They're providing the cameras for the entire press pool... they won the "lottery" (which I think was rigged.)

6. They should fire who ever put that half assed karoake version of "You Really Got Me"

in Hillary's video. It wasn't the Kinks. It wasn't Van Halen. It was some horrible hybrid of the two.

I was watching this afternoon and the mics were picking up all the floor conversations. It was very distracting!
