This isn't about Obama vs. McCain anymore. This is a life and death Corp. Media vs. Obama...
I feel sickened by what I've seen and heard from the talking heads during this convention. Its worse than ever. There is NOTHING these whores aren't willing to say or write to save their corporate whore ass this election. How can these people say and write this shit and still feel good about themselves.

The corporate media stands to lose massive amounts of money if Obama wins and they know it. Just watch the morning infotainment with every other commercial advertising a new pharmaceutical etc.

Its disgusting to watch. Its disgusting to read. I really believe this is our last chance to take our country back. Its like they aren't even watching the same convention that I am. There IS unity. There ARE ideas. There IS a movement for change in this country and its being played down and dismantled NOT just by the Republican spin machine, but the media itself.

Argghhh.

1. That's true - so focus on doing your part in the ground game...
That's where we're taking the country back ~ and the Obama campaign has the best ground game I've ever seen!

13. Sadly agreed with the OP, but yeah...
I can't help but feel if we push a little harder this time, if we get out the vote as much as we possibly can, get more young people involved, maybe we can overcome this hurdle. Maybe... fingers crossed.

20. We WILL pull it off - I've been working for Obama since Feb. and I'm getting tired...
Edited on Wed Aug-27-08 12:42 PM by polichick
...but we HAVE to pull it off for our kids, so I'm going to hang in there!

It helps that Obama chose a fighter like Joe ~ imo we need to be hitting harder.

2. You are absolutely right, we are up against the MSM
If the last 8 years haven't convienced anyone why mccain SHOULD NOT be president

then screw it

If that happens, it is all lost

It means that the country is beyond hope

3. Remembef when Dean took on the corporate media in 2004?
Soon after the MSM went in full attack mode, particularly doing him in when they found a clip several years old of Dean participating in a panel discussion on Canadian local TV in which he disparaged Iowa's caucus system. Soon after, his poll numbers began plummeting.

4. I think they're scared shitless that Obama will win.
What was that law that was overturned that caused the media to go downhill so much? Maybe that could be reinstated.

Fucking assholes.

8. We the people have to take on the corporations too
After all WE the people are the consumers. What if we don't buy?

The USA is not alone in this. Many other countires have the same problem such as the UK, Australia etc.

11. Yes, but the USA is the fulcrum
Without the threat of a US military those multinationals would have much fewer tools to force their agenda.

9. That is right. And it's why there is no point watching it and waiting
to suddenly become journalists or reporters. They are a wing of the Republican Party, just like Pravda of old. Back then, everyone knew it was party-run media. We just haven't figured it out yet.

government runned but the majority of the population knows nothing. Sad and very dangerous this has got to stop.

that is what they are all afraid of. the energy sector. the oil industry. communications and especially the media companies.
think of the rumors of time warner buying nbc/universal.
who will be more favorable to time warner owning all those movies studios and cable/network channels, a mccain administration or obama administration

16. it isn't about losing money if Obama wins
This is just raw power. The reason to own a media entity is so that you can shape public opinion. American television is all about selling but in this case it is the selling of ideas and a cover story. I believe as Mark Crispin Miller does that they are already setting up a story about how Obama could have lost after being so great.

21. shape public opinion, you got it
I don't know why people can't get that simple fact. Even the Iraq War was about raw power. These are people who must control everything, even if cooperation and sharing would get the same results.
