"No poll bump for Obama" after the Biden pick or start of the DNC? A bit early to say that.

To my knowledge, there has been NO national poll done completely after the Biden pick or the start of the DNC*. Up until now, Obama has held a pretty consistent 3-point lead since that Reuters/Zogby poll earlier this month (a poll which has shown to be way out of whack with all polls before and after). http://pollingreport.com/wh08gen.htm

I'll wait until another week or two passes to see if Obama holds onto or expands his lead. And to expect that he will or should open up a 10-15 point lead is simply unrealistic, and nothing more than Republicans trying to set up the meme that Obama can't "close the deal". A 5 point lead in the polls is fine by me.

* I don't count Daily Tracking Polls (Rasmussen and CNN). They usually have a much smaller sample size and are all-over-the-place by their nature. But their averages over time still roughly match what the national poll average is over the same time period.

2. Isn't there generally a 3-day lag time?
Besides, it doesn't matter. Once people get a load of the Republicans, we'll get a bump from THEIR convention. Loved the Twin Cities reference.
