Lets hope it does not happen!!!! And this path could change a lot before then! Here is the link to the Tropical Prediction Center: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/storm_graphics/AT07/refresh/AL0708W5+gif/024313W_sm.gif

6. Be careful, someone will slam you like they did me. |
|
I had to defend being amused by the arrogant RW getting slapped down because they prayed for bad weather for tomorrow night.

15. This is not bloody Karma |
|
What kind of sick notion is that?
Together with gender specific modifier...Geez. Stop being such a downer. IF you have religious inclinations do what you can to head off this storm.
This was a great evening. Don't wish ill on anyone.

18. Right wingnut Preachers pray for rain in Denver tomorrow |
|
Forecast tomorrow, 0% chance of rain in Denver.
But a hurricane forms in the Gulf and is projected to hit land the opening night of the GOP convention.
That's the Karma.
My hope is it goes into the Gulf, hits Cat 5 in the middle and kinda hangs there on Monday and Tuseday, Keeps making weird threatening moves all week long in the Gulf moving between Cat 2 all the way up to Cat 5, then fizzles into a VERY weak tropical storm before striking the most drought ridden area in the Gulf on Friday morning.

3. Amen. I'm hoing there will be enough shearing for this to |
|
remain a cat 1 storm at the most. We had a cat 2 where I live a couple of years ago. The good news is this one isn't spread out like KAtrina was, covering most of the gulf of mexico. Dr. Lyons on the weather channel said be prepared, but don't be too worried just yet. He advised everyone in the region keep an eye on it.

24. Hmmm. Katrina was the biggest domestic failure of the Bush administration |
|
and McCain had birthday cake with him while that whole city died.....
The idea that another hurricane threatens New Orleans during the McCain coronation is the definition of irony.
A horrible irony, but an irony just the same.

7. then again, it's the opening night of the RNC |
|
I'm sure the last thing they want to compete with is a high profile storm.
Nice reminder of the incompetency they showed during Katrina.

9. I'm surprised that it has remained such a weak tropical storm for so long... |
|
that is a good thing...hopefully, it just wont be able to reform and will go away...I wouldn't wish this disaster on anyone - even if it would disrupt the Republican convention (though I'd really hope that they'd be a lot more on top of it this time, given the horrible ineptness that was Katrina!)...

Since it seems all but certain that it will hit somewhere, it may very well be the only thing we can do is hope that it dies down in strength before reaching the Gulf Coast.
But then, "all but certain" is not "totally certain," so I am still holding out that it dies out over the Gulf.

21. The main thing is, let's hope it doesn't happen for the sake of the people of NOLA. |
|
But if it does happen, it might actually benefit the pukes. Remember that shrub and darth cheney are scheduled to speak on Monday night. And anything that can distract Americans from that spectacle has unfortunately got to be good news for the pukes.
