Also says the investigation has been going on for months. |
|
But I am not optimistic that Ass-hole-croft's FBI is going to do anything substantive on this before Nov. 3.

6. Larry Johnson said his sources told him that the Pentagon spy |
|
who was providing top secret info to AIPAC was directly involved in the creation of the forged document that Bush used as "proof" that Saddam was trying to obtain uranium from Niger.
Yes, this is the very same document that precipitated Joe Wilson's visit to Niger, and the subsequent outing of his wife, Valerie Plame as an undercover CIA agent.

Can they keep this one under wraps?
Not if I can help it.

5. No way did the Republicans release this before the convention. |
|
Also, it's POSSIBLY linked to the Plame case and the forgeries.

no politicians even mentioned the Office of Special Plans during Senate Intel Report... it was already under investigation. Now leaked.

11. the CIA is fighting back! |
|
Bush made the CIA look like fools making them the scapegoat for bad intel for the war and he also outed one of their own. We've been waiting and wondering when they were going to fight back.
This is it.
This is no coincidence that this is happening two days before the RNC.
The investigation has been happening for months and they wait until the RNC to go public.
It's payback time.

16. I don't think it matters whose CIA; |
|
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/08/27/eveningnews/main639143.shtmlThey may have been trying to influence Iraq war and Iran policy. That's pretty deep in the system.

17. Help me understand this.... |
|
The forged documents originated from the Pentagon and not the CIA. They're saying that they were created by a high level employee who was spying for Israel.
I wonder if they're making that person out to be a spy to cover the fact that the documents were actually created by the Pentagon on purpose to give us a reason to go to war?
I'm just trying to make sure I have the news report accurate. And then I'm speculating because the administration isn't to be trusted. How convenient that a spy created docs that gave the administration an imminent reason for us to invade Iraq - when PNAC wanted war with Iraq for a decade or more.

21. The way I read it is that Israel was attempting to influence |
|
policy toward Iran. From CBS, who broke the story:
CBS sources say that last year the suspected spy, described as a trusted analyst at the Pentagon, turned over a presidential directive on U.S. policy toward Iran while it was, "in the draft phase when U.S. policy-makers were still debating the policy."
This put the Israelis, according to one source, "inside the decision-making loop" so they could "try to influence the outcome."
