As a woman, Sarah Palin makes me angry. |
|
I have had a day to think about this pick. I am a proud feminist, pro-choice and have been a Democrat all of my life. The pick of Sarah Palin makes me so angry I want to scream. She stands for every single thing I find reprehensible. She is anti-choice, pro-gun, pro-corporations and anti-environmentalist. Her idea of fun is caging an animal and killing it for shits and giggles. And while she is spouting this insane drivel equal to Ann Coulter she has the audacity to have this "aw shucks...just a hockey mom" attitude.
Fuck Her.
This goes beyond me hating her for her politics. There is not a woman on the planet who has not been passed over by someone younger, prettier or dumb enough to play along with a charade. How dare she compare herself to Hillary Clinton. When she makes that comparison, I want to grab her by her ponytail and pull. Ms. Palin has the education of a receptionist, the experience of being the mayor of a small town and running that into the ground. She is under investigation as Governor in the 48th least populous state for a personal vendetta.
When I hear that Barack and Joe should hold off and be nice because she is a woman it pisses me off. She is applying the big job. With McCain a 4-time cancer survivor and current dementia patient, she has more of a chance of taking the office than Joe Biden, who himself is more than qualified for the job as Commander and Chief if god forbid, Barack Obama would be unable to continue. I am sure those Dictators will make sure not to hurt her feelings. When you are a woman, you have to know how to play with the boys on the playground. If she is not up to that, she is not up to the job of President of the United States.

Honestly, I have too much respect for women to even worry that they will vote en masse for a vapid, unqualified extremist just because she's a she.
I worry about this election, but not because I think women are too stupid not to vote their mind.
I've often said that I would probably LOVE the outcomes of elections if ONLY WOMEN voted.

I just read a story from Reuters (the Reuters and AP headline stories appear on My Yahoo page so I can see what non-DUers read) that showered praise on her from all of the MALE fundy group leaders.
The story just repeats the Repub talking points that Palin is a reformer. No mention of the ethics scandal for firing the man who wouldn't fire her ex-brother-in-law. No mention of her running the small town she was mayor of into the ground financially.
I am FURIOUS.
Imagine if a Democrat had nominated someone this unqualified and this competency and ethically challenged.

7. As the father of two adult daughters, I feel they have been insulted |
|
We have instilled in our daughters that they must be able to stand on their abilities. Now we have a woman who appears to have been picked only because she is a woman and possibly because of her looks. Now we are back to the old paternalism.

9. She's a parasite on the backs of all real feminists! |
|
She's a "feminist for life" that's pro war! Only a repub could live in an upside down world like that. She takes everything from feminists (being able to vote, run for office, have rights etc) but gives nothing back.

11. both of my daughters called me |
|
they are in late 20's and said how can they put up someone so unqualified? heck mom I could be pres, that was said by my daughter with a BA and two young children and is staying home right now because they are in korea, her husband is military.
my other daughter said and this is more my low info one that watches about 10 min of cnn a day, works full time, soccer mom with two school age kids, like most of america...she says mom they elected a beauty queen, whats up with that?
I am hoping that the message gets beyond the nets into the homes all across america that we as women are insulted by this choice mccain made. He could have chosen a more qualified person male or female and he chose not to.
Frankly his choice because of his age scares me. I am a dem through and through but in my heart of hearts i sort of know most republican leaders at least on some level know how to sort of run the country and keep us safe from harm, I mean we got Iran, Russia and China to think of these days along with many others...and I am very scared if she ended up pres, I don't think she could handle it and i think if left to her the country could easily go bankrupt or end up in world war from her lack of experience in handling foreign affairs.
