This so sad. That people are in danger. It also highlight the failures of the Bush admin w/ "Korena" as Pickles call it.

3. Why does god love Obama so much????? |
|
It's not fair!!!! That being said, I sincerely hope both Gustav and Hanna are much less than expected. The people in New Orleans and Mississippi need a big break, for once.

4. I think we all put the well being of New Orleans and Mississippi above politics.. But |
|
if another hurricane was going to hit eventually, it may as well be as the Repug convention was just getting started. And IF the levees that have not been properly repaired in the last three years were going to breech then this is as good a time as any.

9. Same here. Is it too much to hope that Gustav & Hanna both completely die down before hitting US? |

The Repugs were left with no good options. We were left with only good ones. I'll take it.
I pray for our friends on the Gulf Coast.

10. This will be more than a 1 day story. |
|
The day the hurricane hits, the day after with all the leftover rain and flooding and rescues, the day after that when skies may clear enough for them to walk among the rubble for their photo-ops, and then the convention would have been almost over.

12. GOP will turn it to their advantage while Dems sit gawking. |
|
You watch. Already they are using it as an excuse to keep the little feller and Cheney out of the convention. McCain has waxed poetic with glistening eyes about it on TV.
What should be a curse, the mere threat of a hurricane at the very site of a previous Republican failure, can be turned into a blessing. It's one switch in a hundred million brains, and the GOP is already thinking about how to flip it from right to wrong.
