McSame knows nothing about economics. Nor does Palin.
Doesn't that scare people? Until this pick, EVERYONE was saying that McSame had to pick someone with economic experience. Even the corporate media can read polls, and they were all screaming for this.

Well, there is no more proof of their complicity with McSame that they have not raised this issue since Palin's selection.

The Dems must hit hard with this. Two economic dummies want to run the United States? This is truly frightening, and I will believe if we fight back with this alone, we will win.

5. Oviously ready to run the economy of the US
:sarcasm: Jeez, I'm a woman and I would be absolutely appalled if expectations were dumbed down for me as they have been for this woman.

8. Alaska's foreign trade alone is a multi-billion dollar annual enterprise
I'm betting she knows a little about economics.

19. Alaska's economy is all about extracting and transporting petroleum.
Given the price of oil, it's no wonder the the numbers look big. But it's such a one-note economic profile that Palin's 18 months as governor don't imply anything about her economic knowledge -- other than her ability to suck up to Big Oil.

23. Not compared to oil
Besides which, oil & fish hardly constitute a diversified economy. Being governor of Alaska (which, again, she's only been for a year and a half) is not like being governor of Ohio or Pennsylvania. A state with fewer than 700,000 residents and a weirdly structured economy is not a good schoolroom.

24. True. And shes a zealot about tapping and increasing the revenue.. But implying that
Edited on Sun Aug-31-08 08:19 PM by wlucinda
a sitting governor has no knowledge of economics is silly, and it's one of those kind of blanket statements that tend to make me point out the counter. I'm contrary that way.

15. The only thing you are seeing is the rise of a barrel of oil,
The Alaskan economy pretty much runs itself and is dependent on the price of a barrel.

And I agree. She *does* know a little.
Very little.

assume a sitting Gov doesnt know more than a bit about economics is pretty laughable to me.

2. Well, trickle down voodoo economics doesn't require sophisticated spokespeople
Cut taxes on the rich and trust that they will invest their money in the country. That's the Republican pitch, year after year.

27. I'm sure she could repeat that
but if any real journalist is actually allowed to question her during this campaign, it might be pointed out that that philosophy is what got us into this mess.

26. McCain knows so little about economics that he has no right to state
keeping the tax cuts for the rich is his policy. He doesn't know if that is smart or devastating to the economy. He flies completely blind on that. He takes advice from GOP bigwigs on that.
