I just figured out what happened here and why Grumpy ole Grampy managed to pull Mayor Mooseburger McCheesecake out of thin air.

HE WAS SUCKERED BY THE MEDIA AND THE REPUKES' OWN PSYOPS.

It is abundantly clear that there never were such things as PUMAs. Their existence was just another part of the Repigs' Operation Chaos/dirty tricks. But the M$M bought it and yammered about it endlessly for two-plus months. KKKarl was a happy man. Then came our convention last week where the Clintons ran a stake through the heart of the myth, nailed the lid shut and buried it. But somewhere along the way, all the media bloviation convinced Grampy that the PUMA effect was REAL! Therefore, Miss Mooseburger Fundienut.

Apparently, no one ever sent Grampy the memo that the whole PUMA thing was a bought-and-paid-for Repig operation. He fell for his own party's attempted dirty trick against the Dems and swallowed it hook, line and sinker. He got played by his own party and the reichwing talking points the media repeated endlessly all summer. In the words of the philosopher Bugs Bunny, "Whatta maroon!"

He thought he could shore up the fundamentalist nuts and also grab some of Hillary's supporters. The thing is, if Palin ever speaks out about the issues she supports, and if the media ever challenge her with tough questions, she's either going to turn off the fundamentalists by sounding more middle of the road (what it will take to grab Hillary voters) or she'll have to take a hard Evangelical Christian extremist line and turn off any moderates or independents.
