I could never date or be attracted to any woman that hunts and enjoys killing animals
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 01:06 AM by Quixote1818
It's about the least attractive thing a woman could ever do in my opinion. I eat meat and understand that some hunting is necessary to control animal populations but I don't get people who enjoy watching an animal flail around in agony after their guts just got blown out. I like to think of women as gentle, kind and loving and enjoyment of the violence of hunting just doesn't seem to fit with those qualities. If a family is poor and can really use the meat I think its fine, but respect for the animal should be taught to the children like the Indians taught their children when an animal was killed for survival. Women who like to kill animals simply seem neanderthal to me and if I ever found out a girl-fried was into hunting I would move on. I am straight and don't date men but if I did I hope I would feel the same way.

1. Hunting just for the fun of killing an animal = Bullfighting = Cockfighting= Dogfighting
Enjoying the suffering of animals sucks. I love meat, and I know animals must get killed in order to be eaten, but I hate the idea of someone just shooting an animal just to enjoy its death.

19. I am gentle kind and loving

A strong woman who hunts legit game and respects the creatures she hunts does not mean she is not ever kind loving or gentle.
Someone conditioned to be kind loving and gentle all the time is either a conditioned victim.

4. Hunting is cool
but shooting defenseless wolf pups in the den is just sick. A real hunter has respect and love for his prey. I used to shoot deer. But I assure you they are admirable animals, and a charging 12 point buck is an awesome recitation of poetry in motion. Power. Courage. Defiance.

When you eat the flesh of such an animal, you must do so with respect and gratitude. Not with the casual nonchalance with which one eats meat extracted from plastic wrap. If you do, the meal will fill more than your belly.

I make no apologies for being an omnivore ... and an example of the most succesfuly predatory species the planet has ever seen.

But I do object to base slaughter of wild animals.

7. Yes, even though I don't hunt, I'm ok with hunting for food.
But not okay with hunting just for the sake of your ego.

10. I am so in agreement with you
I know fathers in WVa who feed the children from what they bring back in deer season. For them, it is not about ego. It is about nutrition for their kids.

I gave it up a few years ago.

15.  how do you feel about taxidermy
To preserve the dignity of a 12 point buck, might seem sick to some. I don't have any objection to mounting a beautiful buck to see his beauty and remember it to admire the awesomeness of the creature .As long as the flesh is consumed of course.
I have tanned roadkills foxes, even tho I can't eat it I can save his fur..
No fox had to be raised and tormented on a farm for it.
I have a young bobcat that was a roadkill too,I found her walking home.I ran got a bag put her in it and got her in a freezer the fur was salvagable so I mounted her.People might go eeww but why let ti go to a horrible place like valley protiens to be made into lipsticks cattle feed and industrial grease? The foxes body was buried.

I also have a cougar skin. Now before you jump, this cougar died in a flood.Rescuers attempted to get him out of a swift current but the attempt failed.I was lucky because I knew some of the rescuers, they knew I loved cats, aso they called, told me the story and offered me the cat. So I took the skin. There were NO holes in it,no trap marks nothing. it's head was a little bigger than normal and it was very wet.It was alot of work to fix it.I have a deep connection to felines. The first night I had the cougar done I had him on my bed and I had a dream that I was with him in his mothers den.
I will never forget that dream. This great cat's hide was a gift from the cougar spirits I think.

I refuse murdered animals like wolves, lynx, big cats.It angers me when people do not respect animals in life and in death.Respect comes in different ways. One may respect by a vegetarian diet, another by salvaging roadkill fur, another by mounting a gorgeous 12 point buck that sustained them with his meat for a season..

29. I really don't have a problem with taxidermy ... just not into it
even though I have seen some really beautiful examples of it.

I will kill for food. I will kill to protect myself or others. But mostly, I think wild animals are best simply appreciated. And, I confess, I find in myself a particular affinity for wolves and bears. I really can't say why ... but that for different reasons I find them beautiful and thrilling. And when wolves howl in the night, it feels as if they are calling to me ..

12. I have hunted
to EAT. Deer meat is good food and when money is scarce a deer, just one can get you by for half a year.I haven't hunted in like 20 years.
I do not like the animal to suffer either. I aim well and if I cannot get a kill shot, I wait longer. If I miss I will take the animal out as fast as I can.And I do not waste, meat skin all that is use able is used.
Hunting is a survival skill. And when times are tough it helps.
Life dies life lives off life and dies anyway, the reality that I have to eat to live and die anyway it is what makes me sick Nature is not kind.Nature will torture living creatures to death with predators and sickness.Parasites, fleas, ticks..you name it.Sometimes what you think is mercy is truly cruel and what looks cruelty does not look merciful but in a way it IS..

14. Did you kill
baby animals while they slept? Doubtful.

Sarah Palin is no hero - she is what makes hunters look like fools.

Did you ride in a helicopter and use high powered weapons with long range sights? Did you kill, as Palin does, for the thrill and not because you needed to feed yourself and possibly a family?

Maybe some research into palin's hunting habits are in order? Just a THOUGHT.

She kills endangered animals for the sport of it and wants to devastate Alaska for its oil.

She is no huntress mother goddess...

27. I have the point of view that you have no right to eat an animal if you would not kill it yourself.
Granted, you could kill it incredibly humanely, but morally you have no right if you would not kill it.

34. Do you think people *take pleasure* in the killing of animals? In general.
Consider that the people working at slaughter houses have to *completely and utterly dispossess their minds* to do their job, the same job that *puts meat on your plate*. It is a *horrifying* experience beyond *anything you can possibly imagine.*

Nature has evolved us to eat meat, and indeed, to kill animals, but one individual would kill once a week or every few days back when we were primitives. Now one individual kills a thousand a week while people like you go grocery shopping for "slabs of tasty."

Hunting, I was taught to respect nature and the animals and to put them down as quickly and as effectively as possible. I'm reminded of every fucking time National Geographic sticks to its crediblity and shows pictures of *natural predation*, and the letters of complaints that they get for *showing pictures of a living animal being ripped to shreds*. Nature is not pretty. Sorry, it's not.

I pity people like you who are so out of touch with the reality of life that they cannot understand mere predation.
