Over at the Drudge report, Drudge has a link to a piece about Palin's pregnancy rumors. Go see it.

7. Lots of trolls, perhaps, but DUers know better than to give Drudge traffic/hits...
Why don't you excerpt/summarize it for us so we don't have to go there?

13. His headline for the story is not good.
"Lefty bloggers go after Palin's 16 year old daughter..."
I was afraid this was going to happen.

6. I am a bit of a newbie here but I don't get the "fear" of reading Drudge.
The DrudgeReport is probably the most influential political website out there. I guarantee the Obama campaign checks it minute by minute.

19. Yeah, it's a horrible looking website -- like something from the 90's but..
he has somehow captured the eyeballs of most everyone involved in politics. I think it is the breaking news aspect and his ability to find obscure but seemingly significant stories. He definitely has a bias in the stories he highlights and the headline he gives them.

Drudge is the guy that takes the pictures of dead people in an accident and says it's in the public interest. Fuck him.

Last night, Drudge linked to the dailyKos babygate blog entries, more than helping them to go viral!!! He pulled those this morning but too late. The other link from last night went to the wingnut Town Hall site, and that remains today.

Your attitude is exactly why this will backfire. You really want this absurd rumor to go viral with a big flashing red arrow pointing back to here or KOS?

25. It makes Obama supporters look like nutcases if this scandal turns out be nothing.
If Sarah Palin is the mother obviously she has hard evidence to prove it. At some point this is not going to be a debatable issue -- one way or the other. I think we should let the tabloids like National Enquirer deal with it. Let them do the dirty work.

Agreed. I laughed when I first heard Preggo-gate rumor. I thought that it was just a joke thread. But, now we've had days of this and it is just too much.

Now it's on Drudge. UGH! We are looking like a bunch of teenagers.

33. Wow. Step back and take a deep breath.
:eyes:

Methinks that people around here truly believe that the internet and the tiny percentage of people who frequent political sites, will somehow influence a campaign strategy. In this day and time, the so-called "brick and mortar" media - print, TV (including cable), and radio are what reaches the vast majority of the public... and the source of this was from the PRINT media from Alaska, NOT the internet and bloggers. Try doing some research, eh?

The "traditional" media, outside of the print side, has spent the last 3 days covering up the inadequacies of the repukes, particuarly with this VP pick, and refusing to do ANY vetting of her or even reporting on the vetting of her by others (most notably the PRINT media), despite the fact that they raked Obama through the coals for 19 months (and continue to do so)... They spent an inordinate amount of time seeking out his kindergarten papers, birth certificate, and past publications, and even mocked his Kenyan grandmother and half-brother, ridiculing their dwellings... sought out his father's "long lost" geo-political economic publications, and his wife Michelle's dissertations, obsessively dissecting it in order to twist its meaning around to find something to knee-cap Obama with.

Next time you post, stop and think whose side you are on, ours or theirs.

35. Drudge is mainline media
Which was exactly my point. Well, let me correct that. Mainline media reads Drudge. Whether you like it or not, he has been helping to push the direction of mainline media's reporting. Now the news-line will be that lefty bloggers are attacking a 16 year old girl.

Yeah, that's helpful...

37. "Operation AstroTurf" much?
What prize are you going for? A mug?

It's interesting that no news cycle appeared saying "righty bloggers" are "attacking 86 year old grandmother". Where were you when the freepers were trashing Obama's grandmother and ridiculing where she lived, which was something totally INSULTING to Africans and their diaspora around the world, including in the U.S., who believe such to be the penultimate diss - denigrating the "elders"?

I know! Laughing it up right along with them!

:eyes:

At this point, I don't give a shit about WHAT any lunatic fringe thinks. They are under the gun and are like rabid animals trapped in a corner, so I expect them to go flailing around with their nonsensical outbursts of faux outrage.
