first, the Republicans are no dummies politically . . . they know that the only thing Palin brings to the ticket is a token nod to women . . . they have to know that she is completely unqualified to assume the presidency should anything happen to McCain, and that the number of voters she will attract to the Republican ticket is negligible . . .
so why would they pick her? . . . the more I think about it, the more I believe it has something to do with what her role would be in a McCain administration rather than what she can do to help him get elected . . . frankly, I believe that they know they don't NEED her help to get him elected
because they've already got the election won . . . the fix is in, and whatever Palin does or doesn't bring to the ticket is therefore irrelvant . . .
just what her role would be in a McCain administration is something only he and his cronies know, but I can envision something like abolishing the EPA and assigning responsibility for all environmental matters to the office of the VP . . . or something equally odious . . .
the point I'm trying to make is that they understand that it doesn't matter who they pick for vice president because the election results have already been pre-determined . . . see RFK Jr.'s recent comments on this very issue . . .
